Saw it a couple of days back . Wanted to link it here but got caught up in work. Tells us of the huge mountain or mountains we've to conquer to be any where close to being atma nirbhar & we haven't even begun in most areas barring SMC fabrication . Whether we get there or not is another topic altogether .
At least the Chinese to their credit have gotten into the game & made some progress though they're miles away from their destination & there's realistically no chance of them getting there at least as far as constructing the entire ecosystem around the SMCs go .
Part of it is in the nature of the beast , part of it is thanks to western sanctions & part of it is the utter failure of CCP in cultivating friends & allies. Here's more on that -

In the short term as long as China's around we can't do jack to the US in terms of data protection or de dollarisation or building up our own systems in IT & related services which is the reason the upcoming war between these two evils is not just necessary , it is vital for the larger well being of the world especially from our own PoV.
And problem is exactly mate We are always counting on things and luck to play out.. so that starts align someday for us. Stars wont align until we adjust align and readjust our telescope and looked things in perspective and plan out in accordingly and not in pieces and parcels. This is not era of war because for us its era of perennial elections...In the short term as long as China's around we can't do jack to the US in terms of data protection or de dollarisation or building up our own systems in IT & related services which is the reason the upcoming war between these two evils is not just necessary , it is vital for the larger well being of the world especially from our own PoV.
The US is drunk on its own power estranging allies putting off potential friends & making enemies out of fence sitters. They've essentially gone beserk since the 2000s in ways they haven't been right through the Cold War for obvious reasons. There has to be a fall & a great one . I'm counting on China to precipitate it even if they themselves go up in flames much like Germany did last century & took down two of the world's then super powers - UK & France along with it thereby aiding in birthing a new world order.

We cant have deep state - because we have grown or rather made to understand patriotism is Bad and *Globalism is good(*not in the sense China understood)
Shade What he is saying may inevitability.. but that inevitability wont happen before subduing India as the variability factor in power balancing equation by either power. There is no escape for India by being closing eyes and counting on luck and stars. And yes only God can help out! What he's describing though is an inevitability under 11, Jinpig
However if 11, Jinpig and his loyalists are somehow removed, this scenario won't play out, it will be another 100 years of the Amerimutt Reich till God personally steps in to finish it once and for all.
CCP has a faction within it which is fully for No Limits Dhandho, Xi overthrew this faction but it's many adherents are now underground, pretending to be loyal to 11, Jinpig

Unless yogi takes the helmWe have to continue sitting on the fence tightly, making deals with either of the parties that isn't going after us with a stick at the moment, waiting for the Ching to finally grab Taiwan and bring US to it's senses.
As @Azaad was saying they are doing masti -e- gaand and ungli never before thought possible
Till that day comes we have to hold on
However once Mudi baba is removed from power the country is done and done a Western vassal
Exactly the problem is not West or China having overreaching capabilities. The problem is exactly what you stated, where are our plans and works to counter them - or atleast able to stand to them? We do not have long term forget civilizational but even National plans. Lt Col Ravi drew us parallels to pre conditions before Battle of Plassey with current increasing economicUmmnn...I might get a lot of flak for this, but I've kind of a glass ⅚ empty attitude.
How long are we going to play this very convenient game of "it's USA/CIA/Commies/Big Tech/Soros/Left/Deep State/Right/Conspiracy"?
Okay, so let's assume all of them have conspired against us. But what groundbreaking have we done to actively counter that?
Leave aside military, today the biggest thing that China has achieved in terms of global dominance is making sure that atleast one part of the whole supply chain of everything passes through it and that too so efficiently that it becomes tough to replace it economically. It doesn't even need to choke...just a finger on a pressure point should be enough
• Medecine, especially things like APIs - 40%
• Consumer Electronics - 70%
• Semiconductors - 10%*
* It's just China's share but from a practical point of view this should be as much as 70% given it can easily take over Taiwan or atleast a complete enforce a naval blockade
• CNC Machining, especially services - 40%
• Telecom Equipment - 40%
• Renewable Energy - 50%
(figures are from my guesstimation, feel free to correct them. Tho they should be in the ballpark)
Where are we!?

After a brief period of actually helping this thing has single-handedly caused perhaps the most damage; as it gave this false sense of security that we're the IT superpower. We didn't bother focusing on 99 other extremely important industries, we started closing down non-IT programs in colleges, obviously because students stopped taking admissions in anything else, the most crucial phase of a child's life (9th to 12th) got wasted becoming coaching-zombies...all mostly for jobs that everyone else thought to be too menial to do.IT superpower

A true IT superpower outside Silicon Valley would be something like Tel Aviv, where the importance of work being done Vs people engaged in doing that is significantly higher.
IT Superpower for us is very much like those 1974 fibreglass helmets that we wear so proudly. For the soldiers it give a false sense of security but in reality it'd crumble as soon as engaged.
