China followed the same industrial model as Japan in the 1960s: first, begin with building inferior copies of Western products, then slowly and steadily build up your own Indigenous capabilities and, over time, surpass them. Look at where BYD is today when compared to European or American EVs.

As far as the 5th Gen Fighter is concerned,the J20 first flew in 2011. They have been perfecting it since then, and I'm quite sure it has matured enough to take on any Western aircraft.

A 5th gen fighter in the hands of Pakistan would be a nightmare scenario for India considering that historically whenever they achieved a technological parity with us, they never missed an opportunity to launch a full scale attack.

IAF didn't want any more, but after "Swift Retort" from some piggies they suddenly wanted more, but the problem is the model Embraer jet on which the Netra radar is mounted is now out of production

There was another proposal for more IL-76 mounted Israeli radar but nothing has been heard about it since years now, 3 of these are already in service.

So now DRDO/HAL have to do both, get a new plane for the Netra radar and make another bigger AWACS with a bigger and better radar.

Anyway the Padosi Mulk's airfields can easily be blasted by our missiles before their F-16s ever take off, it's quite a thin country geographically

The issue with the Chinese subs is that the German diesel engine that it was supposed to go with it got blocked and the Chinese alternative isn't as quiet making this a breach of contract. I'm only guessing as this what happened to another country.

Why did the Myanmar dump all their JF-17, one or two submarines sunk and aircraft carriers which do not go on high seas. There are many more examples of hastily built military items.
