Gems of BJP

Why does the BJP have an itch to shoot themselves in the foot?

Are these bastards so brain dead?

Why would you announce a "Caste census" at a point when Hindus are the most united in decades?

Drama for Bihar elections aside from whatever other "strategy" people talk about

>point when Hindus are the most united in decades?

Kuch bhi :bplease:

If this is in context of the terror attack it will dissipate in the coming weeks, caste kanging and language kanging is much more important

This was inevitable anyway. If not now, sometime in future and If not BJP someone else would've done it.

Demographics is destiny. Dehaatis have higher tfr and more kids.

This is the worst timing possible. Infra/Agri policies don't split the Hindu society like a Caste census does.

I made this point on the politics thread and I am doing it again - I think you folks are reading way too much into this announcement. SC/ST data is already public, and questionnaire on caste is already a part of census. This new 'caste enumeration' (their words) will not reveal stuff we already do not know about and that is if they even bother to conduct it at all (they keep delaying the census every year). This specific announcement is done in anticipation of the Bihar polls.

@Vinash

Think of it this way - they weathered the Maratha quota stir in Maha, all those caste kanging attemptes by INC, came up with slogans like "ek hai to safe hai" and has maintained the equilibrium since (reservations yet to breach 50% etc). They will not do drastic u-turns on this, caste kanging as an electoral strategy is already past its sell date. Ji anyway does not advocate drastic changes.

It just never stops. At what point does a BJP supporter stop thinking these are mistakes?

Vijaya Vishwanathan - the same one who works with Rajiv Malhotra - who came out with a book recently was pointing out that a lot of NITI Aayog's policies are very aligned with globalist designs/vision re transgenderism, lghdtv etc. Quite a few of the welfare schemes that were rolled out also have an SDG mandate. One needs to be sure that it is not the babus who are selling this snake oil to them, after all politicians are not thinkers and see only what they can sell as an accomplishment to the public whom they will ask for votes.

Same party that our erstwhile hendu warrior urga Bhairav worked for.
I would've loved to see his face right now
Ugra is here and I think I know who he is in current form

we had this discussion some years ago about absence of intellectual depth on the non-left side of the spectrum.

this is going to continue for another decade atleast i think. when gormint calls for papers on any developmental subjects, the flavour of citations/references are going to be globalist in nature since for last 20-30 years they had stranglehold on global academia and still do. there is no alternative to globalist view at global scale even today.

only when the ratios shift drastically in availability of academic resources, we will start seeing other ideas naturally flowing into policy papers.

Indian govts and babudom have shown skepticism/resistance toward globalist social engg overtures before though and in the absence of that they have a history of initiating pernicious campaigns like sex selective abortions which we can call on & are quite aware of. The problem IMO is one of quality and not quantity as far as these studies go apart from some not-inconsiderable amount of validation seeking from the West. Policy makers at least over here are well aware that one size fits all approaches imported from abroad don't work in India.
