huh...i see atleast 300+ marriage in my life (many of them without invitation ). from villages to cities of uttarakhand, never see any women wear another colour then red/orange/pink/maroon. even if they wear another colour saree (see some in pics not in reality), there is definitely one cloth present with red/orange colour with bride dress.

I was talking about the Chinese here. Indians still have comparatively managed to hold on their culture despite green and Brit invasion. Chinese didn't have to deal with green infestation or missionary invasion, they destroyed their culture on their own. And, then adopted from the west to fill that gap/void which was left.
The more I read about Taoism and Confucianism, the more I realise how similar and compatible they are to our own philosophy. (Confucianism less so, only the structure somewhat, but Taoist philosophy is similar to our own Sankhya school and some parts of advaita). Yet, they managed to destroy all that in a span of a few decades.

They unlike our diaspora are more eager to abandon their nation btw. Many don't even send remittance by seeking asylum status. It is only the CCP's carrot & stick approach is why their diaspora actually follow its line. They can make their family, property, and other assets hostage.
