I dont think thats the case in youtube though as you'd get enough views for either positive or normal coverage as well. So in the long run not good for the creator if they try to use bait. It can only work so many times.

Situation with Twitter is that only.

Musk turned Twitter into a Views farming social media by tying views with earnings. So, western handles found the hack - make racist tweets about India which will rile up Indians forcing them to comment on the tweets and getting likes from Western audience which is always up in arms to see negative news about India and other countries towards east.
