Elmo has mood swings every other day.
The west had human zoos till 1950s, if anyone thinks the racism that they practiced and preached openly for centuries just goes away in 50 years, then I have a white marble building in Agra on sale for them. But even then America has been quite acceptive of immigrants and meritocracy is awarded, even if America did it to further their own interests. This recent bout of racism is nothing but a periodic resurgence of the dirt that they pushed under the carpet to absolve them of their guilt. It will come and go, just like it has for other ethnicities. The only difference now is that we have the internet and we have social media, so the hate & racism gets amplified probably 100x than before.
But Indians are not the only ones at the receiving end, just check how Chinese have been treated in US historically.

Compared to them, this online drama is soooooo weak and mild.
But there are several silver linings in this as per me, first the often blatant and irrational racism highlights the dark, dirty underbelly of US, second there is very little to no real impact on the immigrants themselves as the screechers are low life individuals with next to no real power except for an open media to air their racism, third it will help pull ethnic Indians out of their disillusionment that somehow US is a heaven and Indian is bad bad, fourth it will polarise them to be more abrasive, confident and do better and better, fifth it will help forge a sense of community building among fellow Indians as they will realise there is no one for them except their own.
As US is going to see more public Indian faces in various fields, expect the racism to rise and not get any less.
But Indians in US also have the $$$ and influence to curb it, if they want to.
There is a law to combat Jew hatred, and there is one to combat Muslim hatred, none to combat Hindu hatred... I wonder why.

Historically Americans have had anti-Italian, anti-Irish, anti-German, anti-Japanese, anti-Vietnamese, anti-British sentiments
Heck they even had anti-Finland sentiment
They referred early Finland immigrants as China Swede due to their Lappish facial features

It is important to keep reminding the pignats that white people invented racism. yes, its true, white people are the first people to classify humans as 'in group and out group' based on phenotypic features such as skin colour, hair texture, eye colour, etc. and assign heirarchy to them- THAT is racism.

Well, you see, everyone is ETHNOCENTRIC. not racist. indians, chinese, romans, greeks, all believed in ethnocentrism, not RACISM.
ethnocentrism means you are biassed in favour of your ethnicity, where you prefer your ethnicity - which is combo of language, culture and customs- over others.
**THIS** is how everyone was/is without whiteman invented racism. Like, what the foc did we do with the Greeks, Tusharas, Tukharas, etc. like the Kushans,etc. once they ADOPTED Indian names, culture, religion ? we loved them, treated them as our own and didnt go 'nuh uh, u r still whiter than we are, so u different'.
Same with the Chinese - if you adopt Chinese culture, language and keep screaming every 5 minutes that Shih Huang Di is the greatest emperor of all time, they will very quickly forget that you are 'round eye'.
Heck, we see from writings of Faxian, Xuanzong, Itsing, etc. that the Chinese felt MUCH MUCH more comfortable around us alien looking Indians than their similar looking Mongols to the north. Why ? Coz chinese werent racist, they couldnt give a shit about how you looked, compared to whether you are barbarian or civilized.
We even see the same from Greco-Romans, the inventors of proto-racism ( they started classifying people by phenotype observations, but hadnt attributed closeness/farness based on phenotype or a heirarchy of phenotypes yet) : they thought only THEY were the greatest race, but they substantially preferred the darker Persian/Indian/Greek/Babylonian races than the whiter 'naked barbarians to the north', whom they hated the most ( Romans ironically hated the Celts on the British Isles the most - mercilessly calling them the worst subhuman group ever).
So no, there was no racism till white people invented it. There is a theory to WHY they invented it - and it shall remain a theory because 'the why' to a social classification issue is never a fact but always speculative - White 'race' is the only 'race' where all its 'racial features' - blonde, blue/green eyes, white skin, etc. are ALL recessive traits.
Meaning they are weaksauce genes that get bred out with intermingling. So if you want to promote 'whiteness' you NEED to invoke racism and perpetuate it, because without racism, whiteness cannot be preserved in the modern age.
The corollary is also true - go to Africa and see the African tribals - they are the LEAST concerned people about racial phenotypes in the world (they are scared shitless of albinos and think they are witches and kill them, but albinism isnt a racial feature and they show no aversion to any other lighter tones). Why ? because they know ( subliminally) that black genes are the most dominant genes in species homo sapiens, so whatever + black = black dominant will remain and they wont be faced with 'omg my grandson looks like a weird alien' .

The anglos are the MOST racist people in history of the world. Not only were they racist enough to not intermingle at all with the native americans ( look at the Spanish - half of latin america looks mixed), they were also racist enough to consider themselves ( anglos) a seperate, superior race at one point than any other races.
