It was imported S400 nd imported SU30 (yeah we manufacture it but it still is an imported OEM) nd rafale which did the heavy lifting nd prevented any misadventures from PAF like swift retort.. remember last time they responded Within 24 hours against balakot..

At the end it's the capability which matters in hand nd not like whatever is in the pipeline.

Rest assured it is for IAF to decide on F35 nd if it decides to go ahead then it will be a non nato standard F35I with isreali Bnet AR SDR nd BEL indigenous IFF the same setup that we are currently using with IN P8I to establish interoperability with other IAF fighters.

Nd for IAF CHIEF he himself has stated that we need to go for off the shelf purchase.

Also in that report he never said that it would be f-35. Make in India with F-35 is out of the question it would cost 3 times more.

Japan just has a FACO line that too because they are major resupply and refurbishment hub for US and their jets cost twice as much. Not to mention they also don’t have source code access.

Of course they will. But in this forum, we can still debate the pros and cons of various decisions. And suggest alternatives. And I think its prudent to not buy the American Electronic Signature Library And Analytics As A Service a.k.a. F35 MDF. I don't want to buy tens of sensor platforms (F35) from USA when those sensors will clearly be flying around freely in our airspace and absorbing the signatures of Indian IADS and other Indian weapons and EW suites only for the data to be neatly packed and sent to USA the moment our bought F35 land on our airbase after every single sortie.


Alright, let us discuss a scenario. Assume that I know for a fact that Pakis are going to get J35 and AAA upgrades by next year and will attempt another misadventure. Assume that this is a known fact. What do you think we can do starting from today, to counter this threat?

It someone’s desire not reality. Israel is a very special country to US. If you ignore AIPAC and its influence you don’t understand how that country functions.

But again if that deal is offered than we can consider it. If we are offered a F-35IN like that with our own mission data file access and source codes. With local maintaince then I would say even buy it in make in India with 3 times the price.
