LoL I wonder how do these clowns remain in shortage of funds when the IAF fighter fleet is subpar for a supposed $4.3 trillion economy. SoKo with less than half of that has as many fighter jets as us, Israel has almost that many with 7-8 times smaller economy although with USA bankrolling them. Similar pattern for Turkey, Greece, or resident pakistan. SoKo has NoKo and PRC to deal with, despite american bases inland, same for Japan. Israel has all it's neighbours wanting it's genocide, what tf is this country doing while being surrounded by hostile countries heavily armed conventionally and with nukes?

Same is the story in AEW&CS, ISTAR, Strategic Airlifter, EW as well as Aerial Refueller procurement. And unlike PLAAF, USAF and RuAF, the IAF doesn't even have to spend on large bombers.

Total lack of seriousness in IAF.

We don't have awacs because drdo claims to because drdo claims to make something in large number which they can't and then tries to make it on plane which is not longer produced.

Our budget is bigger due to large millitary of 1.4 million active personnel. Soko , israel , Saudi , turkey have better equipped airforce as they don't spend a lot on ground troops .

Only 3 countries have million troops us,india and china. Russia increased troops only due to war.

We are still not worst equipped for the buget look at uk they are far worse equipped with 50 billion budget and their naval jets don't have anti ship missile.

Bhai DRDO ki kya galti hai isme? They have developed the radars. It's the IAF & MoD who do cost negotiation with the vendor. Airbus 321 is still in production, they even have acquired those planes. What is stopping them frok finalising the deal with Airbus for modification of A321?

Not everything is a conspiracy theory bro, LM2500 engines have huge demand, like F414, they will remain in production. F404 went out of production due to no orders and restarting production is never easy.

Had IAF ordered Mk1A on time, engines would've been supplied like normal times. They didn't. A jet engine as a lot of suppliers supplying components and sub-assemblies required to make the gas turbine, and with F404 out of production, it's suppliers also stopped producing it's sub-components which again had to be restarted from scratch. Unless US Gov officially orders them to restrict anything, GE as a commercial corporate entity isn't likely going to be playing games with us.

Then what about apache?
Helicopter fleet is being grounded due to lack of spares and the army haven't even received the delivery?

Il76 is quite old and expensive the deal would've cost 1.3 billion of 2 awas and government wanted to spend less than 1 billion

From 12 by this year to just 6 by Q4...

Actually GE promised 8 engines this year and then 12/20 next year so considering that 8 Tejas has to be delivered this year but we go by March 31 as financial year so HAL quoted 12 Tejas by March 2026. By the way they have already built 6 with category B engines which haven’t delivered to IAF and waiting to swap the engines.

Not even a single country in the world has built any jets without sourcing at least some components from west.
Chinese j20 also contains western electronics components.

So whatever we try to build Americans will just stop the supply unless we buy their outdated jets.

I don't think Doland is doing it. Just that the engine facility was shut down due to no orders and had to be restarted for our IAF. So the supply chain issues will persist due to not ordering Mk1A on time.

I think some of IN20 engine specific GE vendors went out of business during Covid. GE have now got new vendors. The additional delay now is because they are qualifying these components coming from new vendors.

MOD and HAL have to share major blame on this.

I have a lot of distrust on HAL. However they didn't said they will deliver six by 2026. It's the media house which misquoted them tbh to add masala. They said they have 6 planes ready but without any engine. And they will build 6 more by the end of the year. If engines get delivered then they will deliver total 12 of those to IAF by end of this year. No need to participate in misinformation spree. Nothing good comes from it.
