One thing you learn in Armed Forces (or anywhere in life for that matter) is you show up & fight with what you have, not what you could, would or should have.

You could have always prepared more. You would have been more ready to tackle your adversary. You should have been wise enough to forsee this.

But the truth is none of that happened. So you have two choices, either give up and run, or fight with what you have, and possibly be wiser the next time.

Like bleh and others were discussing they can get some mirage-2000s to pad the numbers for now.

If even that's not possible they need to rush to either emergency procure air defense systems or get DRDO and DPSU frens to rush production of whatever desi air defence systems are there.

Fauj also needs to get the arty of both spaag and towed varieties.

I do not understand why India is too undecided, At this moment in history the best answer It would be better to buy Russian from my opinion, however Russia is spelled by both West antagonism and China`s hypocrisy, Both India and Russia are threatened by China than the west, The west is just letting China hide its true intentions.

Buying Su-30s and Su-75 is in my opinion what is the best for both nations, the West is only using China to weaken India and Russia so when India and Russia are too weak they will Join NATO to finish China.

The ability of both Russia and India to be self sufficient will allow higher independence, but as long as Russia and India dream China has good intentions, and in fact China is the lap Dog of the west, to hit Russia`s back.


I hope you can defend well India is one of my favorite countries and I like it, but I see you have dire problems.

IMO More sukhois or even mig-29(bcoz they are cheaper) derivatives are welcome with latest improved/upgraded engines... but go for single seater versions... Su-30MKI's need 2 pilots are burden on already lagging Pilot numbers.

Wild idea... but I will choose a Mig-29/35 assembly with latest engines and all the goodies/electronics... would be slightly cheaper than sukhois. Produce 150-200 of these.

The linear actuator used in missile related stuffs comes from Thomson...USA
Most of the avionics used in everything from missiles to fighters come from Honeywell...USA
Servo driver comes from a firm in...Switzerland (even more unreliable than USA during a war)
The computers used in even missile launchers come form Curtiss-Wright...USA
FPGA, the brain of any weapon come from various companies in...USA
Most of the I/O cards come from Acromag...USA

I can go on for as long as you want me to

And for dependence on USA for targetting data, you tell me. Does Ukraine have a navigation satellite system similar to GPS? Does Ukraine have a HALE UAV? Does Ukraine have high resolution multi spectral imaging spy satellites?
Does we have all of these?
Now based on these answers, you decide who would be dependent on USA for targetting data

Any idea what the Ruskies do for these parts ? Do they manufacture all these in house ? Or I guess they get it from chinkaland ?

They used to get lots of subcomponents from europe/USA.
Now most comes through China either from China or US/Europe
And they also started to manufacture lots of them in-house.

I feel like with the advent of AI and increasing Automation and drone usage in wars. The advantages of having a large human army is going to become less and less.



So, maybe now is perhaps the last prime time to invade and get some more territory. Otherwise the advantages that India has won't remain for long.

It's completely different than that. Just the payload of Hermes 900 (Adani Drishti 10) would be more or less equal to the gross weight of Hermes 450.

One is supposed to take off from proper runways and fly for almost a day and half with all sorts of payload from radars to EW systems. And the other is supposed to take off from semi prepared forward airstrips for short duration missions with payloads like EO and laser designators.
