1.) If those flights took off from Hotan , they're targeting Ladakh & J&K . Hotan itself is vulnerable to the IAF. Look at the dispersed bases not just in that region in question but also surrounding regions as far as the IAF is concerned.

2.) Immaterial. Paxtan is not going to base PLAAF nor will they be part of this . If they do they'd be nuked . What's more they know it !

3.) That's where we'd be basing the Rafale M along with the MKI.

It's going to be a roughly even contest . It's not going to be a one sided affair your civilian defence enthusiasts think it'd be.

Yes I posted about it in one of my replies there. Was under the impression you're talking about refuelling from over Hotan. That's what PLAAF is practising over Tibet including flying from Yunnan over Myanmar and / or over BD into the NE & Eastern India & over Thailand / Myanmar into A&N.

How will a possible merger look like at this point? Isn't the preliminary design of AMCA already done? If so no major changes can be made to it's design. If TEDBF indeed evolves into N-AMCA, that would make the 2nd Vikrant class AC obsolete and we will leapfrog to nuclear powered 65K tonnes AC by 2040s. If that's the case, 26 Rafale-M sounds too low in to compensate for the old mig-29k airframes.
