Indian Army: News and Updates

Did you see the numbers? Only 10k troops and now another 10k. That’s just a division size number. To be a corps size you need several divisions. The actual combat portion of a division is actually around 4k-6k troops and the rest are in supporting positions. For a mountain combat unit the ratio of teeth to tail is even worse owing to the terrain and harsh climates and atmosphere. To field an effective force of 15k troops you need 40k-45k troops.
If I remember correctly, the size was reduced due to budget constraints. Now, it seems to be back on track.

At one time they were planning to have 90000 men??

What bullshit ? We have 2 full-fledged Mtn Strike Corps (1 Corps for Ladakh & 17 Corps for NE).

Infact we are converting peaceful formations in UP & Uttrakhand to offensive formations to be deployed in central sector.

Tell me about the build of ak 203 what it feels like what’s your height and how comfortable was it to hold it (if you did)

Am 6' 1"... though I handled both 716 & 203 for just about a minute (bcoz of crowd) but I was more comfortable with 203... build quality of sig is better.

I missed "Negev-7"... was also there with scope... absolute love.

There was Tavor, M4 & M98 in the Para tent... but Para weapons were not to be touched... they were clear about it.

Load carrying UAV's and ATV's were on display too.

How does the ak 203 feel in terms of build quality and material quality?
