Indian Economy

i think i have said this before, this lady underestimates the role of shopfloor efforts/commercials by a lot. gormint and industry have been trying to find solutions for a decade. state wanting something alone does not solve things, it has to make financial sense to the companies doing the manufacturing. first PSU bulk drug ecosystem was revived, during covid as it says in the article private players were incentivised with PLI.

it will take a few years for the process to stabilize.

ultimately not just in this sector, every manufacturing sector the economies of scale and FTA are in chini favour, which allows them to produce goods at lower cost. i don't think anyone knows how long this hand holding can continue.

Indian pharma is still very heavily reliant on Chinese API's.

Companies are beginning to make their own API's but the feedback is, API's are cheaper when imported from China.

That means we need to raise tariffs against Chinese goods and APIs and find a way to lower the cost of productions of APIs in India by making larger bulk orders.

Next in line is Ace Micromatic. They have 5 factories in Bengaluru with a total floor space of 81,000 sqm with in-house foundry and R&D space. In 2024, they had capacity to produce 5,500 CNC lathe machines & 3,200 CNC machining centers.

Nalanda University is now fully operational, with students from around the world. I hope it regains its former glory.

An international cricket stadium and a sports academy are already established, and the Bihar state government has announced a greenfield international airport in Rajgir in this year’s budget. Rajgir seems poised to become a cosmopolitan town, with people from all around the world.

it's courses are humanities related, chances are more that it will become another JNU.

Nalanda University should introduce technical courses while maintaining a strong focus on the humanities. It should serve as a global center for promoting India’s soft power and cultural influence. India’s soft power is deeply rooted in its Dharmic traditions—Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism—which are not just religions but a civilizational identity, a source of pride, and a key aspect of India’s global image. India’s tourism economy heavily depends on its Hindu heritage sites, cultural traditions, cuisine, and practices, making their preservation and promotion essential.
