Indian Economy

For all the pomp about other countries like Vietnam, Indonesia taking over Chinese manufacturing, they seem to forget those countries don't have the scale of a billion people. Moreover, given India's skilled white collar population it is more advantageous for a manufacturing to thrive. The only thing standing is Government regulations and incompetent state governments who don't have a policy to attract manufacturing. Every effing harami on social media keep abusing Gujarat and Gujjus about most semiconductor projects to that state. What these haramis do not know is they are the first state in the country to have a semiconductor policy.

Every effing harami on social media keep abusing Gujarat and Gujjus about most semiconductor projects to that state

I think this is so true for so many States, except a few TN, MH, GJ and mayb KR what are the others doing absolute incompetency comes from State govts who are not scrutinized much and get away with so many things

are the german numbers making sense? (their own official statistics)

growth rate for 2023 is -.3, and yet added 285 billion in absolute numbers.

Real growth (-0.3)+ Inflation = nominal growth of 285B$

For perspective. Germany added just 2T$ in terms of purchasing power in last 10 years. India added 10T$ in same duration.

Factor in the currency stability too. Generally, countries that have mostly Inflation driven growth, will usually see their currency values tank rapidly(ex: Turkey), but Euro being one of the reserve currencies they can pull it off.

One of the many privileges of Developed countries..

Such retards holy shit. In another thread there was some debate about the definition of dehati... This right here are the dehatis.

Car ownership is only 8% of households in our country and by no means are these the "core segment" leave alone the majority of our population. The "middle class" rides 2 wheelers .. And I have given data for 2 wheeler sales.
And yes it is a case of preference. It is far more prestigious to drive a royal enfield or some other higher end bike rather than an alto even though the latter is far more expensive or heck just take a second hand car. So its not surprising to see people stick to 2 wheelers until they have money for a 8 + lakh car . In my experience atleast in large metros cheap cars are only for young couples that absolutely need a car for taking their children or as a second car for wealthier folks.
in uttarakhand, we hv problem of parking in mountain side of areas...beside this in mountain areas people hv to travel very less, unlike cities. everything u get or workplace is very near (with in 3-5 km range). thats why people use less cars nd they remain on road sides for many months. my sister work in nainital but didnt get parking there. so she hire a garaj from 25 km far away in bhawali....she uses his scooty in nainital nd car remain in garage for 1 years approx😂. same case with my father, whoes car remain in village. he only ride it for 3-4 times in a year. practically for pahad for common middle class bike nd scooty make more sense. but people buy it nd rarely use it.

Hmm I had read somewhere that hilly/mountain areas actually have higher than average car ownership.. I'll post the source if I find it later.

Stubble burning is necessary to return nutrients back to the soil and to an extent kill of pests. If not burned the farmers have to spend to collect the stubble and then spend again for more fertilizer and pesiticides.

Burning also causes loss of nutrients and kills useful organisms as well in the soil. The practice degrades soil health.
And read the article the ones who did this are claiming that bio gas plants cause pollution . The only reason they burn is cause its fast nothing else.

They always use their religion as tool to do wat ever want to do. Strict penalty required.

in punjab and haryana's case, stubble burning was not an issue upto 2008 or so. sowing pattern changed when they started planting three crops instead of traditional two. it so happened that timing of preparing for third crop i.e stubble burning, now coincides with onset of winter when the winds stop blowing and smoke gets trapped between northern plains and himalayas.

year might be wrong in the above info, by the crux of the matter is a known phenomenon.

Nominal GDP is measured in dollars so currency devaluation matters too
