Indian Economy

To blame racism is to ignore the reasons why stereotypes exist. Japanese stereotype Indians to be unreliable, lazy, constantly looking for handouts, excuses for everything. Very negative perception. What will Indians do to change this? Say they're racist and move on?

Bring on the hate. I'm ready for it. But what I have said is true, and how much of the world perceives Indians.
Why are you so fucking obsessed with the perception of world?
and what fucking shit are you trying to achieve by arguing in a forum that is visiting by more or less 100 people daily?
You don't seem to have much interest in either military or geopolitics.

And if the perception of japanese of Indians is "lazy, unreliable, looking for handouts" etc then yeah that is 100% racism or preduige
Not to mention what the fuck kind of perception is that? That just not the perception people have of countries or it's people, that's not even a stereotype of Indians.

So much has happened in last few months.

It seems entire world order is changing. New problems and new opportunities are emerging.

1. Global trade is changing. It may no loger be beneficial to China as it was during 20th century. The globalisation is dead. Even before Trump, world was moving towards selective trade. Now Trump has accelerated things. Although I don't think his version of changes are here to stay long term. There may be more changes in future. However change of economic order has been set in motion by Trump. This will prompt any future American gov to initiate reforms and changes massively. Therefore the current situation for atleast next 4 years will remain uncertain. This uncertainty around global economy will provide enough space for countries like India to internally reform economy and sign some important trade deals.

2. Making everything in America is not possible. No matter the tarrifs certain low/medium value and high volume merchandise can't be produced in America simple because of cost. This is a good oppertunity for developing countries including India. However compition will be brutal. There are already signs that some countries are willing to do anything including Zero Zero deals. Meanwhile Goyal's statements aren't generating lot of confidence. Judging by his record on delaying FTAs with other countries, he may not be perfect minister for this Job. However we do have some other advantages like market depth and a very large population.

3. EU being 2nd largest consumer market, all exporting countries will rush to EU to sell their goods. EU can't absorb everything. They too have their own businesses to protect. EU may apply some restrictions and perhaps give prefrence to some countries over others based on their economic intrests. For India, getting FTA with EU may become even more challenging now then before.

4. Weak demand from US could plunge world into a global recession. A worldwide recession and decline of exports could trigger another Asian forex crisis. Most Asian countries balance their forex from trade surplus with United States. For large exporters like China have other markets but not all manufacturing countries have this luxury. Those countries with dwindling forex may significantly devalue their currency and may implement their own version of tarrifs. This will create additional challenge for Indian businesses. There might be a strong pressure to devalue Rupee as well. Too much devaluation may impact our GDP growth target. So gov needs to be cautious.

5. Foreign Direct Investment may see decline worldwide because of uncertainty around global trade. There are no safe countries until some stability is reached in America's tariff policy. Decline in FDI may effect India's industrial ambitions. If FDI moves away from industry and goes towards real estate. Massive dumping of capital in real-estate in a recession economy, could create another 2008 like real estate bubble. Gov needs to be extra cautious about real estate sector.

6. Future seems bleak for certain countries in our neighborhood like Pak, BD and others who untill now only relied on generous tarrif relaxation of western countries to stay compatitive in selling basic items. These countries don't have a deep internal economy nor tecnological or financial capacity to stay compatitive. and they rely solely on small exports to generate just enough forex to stay afloat. Plus these countries have massive debt from China which they are struggling to pay back. China could use this leverage to dump cheap goods into their market with zero opposition. This will further damage their economy. An econmic disaster in our neighborhood could spillover into our country. Gov needs to keep a close eye on border security.

7. Finally it seems that India's massive service sector is safe from tarrifs and economic warfare. However American economic slowdown will have some impact on their business too. Gov needs to bring some new policies to expand India's service industry as well. This will help us keep our GDP growth high even during global recession.

Every crisis brings an opportunity. Trump's Trade war is India's (last?) opportunity to reclaim it's position as a major economic powerhouse that it once was long time ago. The question is will India swiftly grab this once in a century oppertunity?

Isn't this true for most auto manufacturers like Ford, GM etc? Even Tesla gets it batteries from CATL/Panosonic.

I mean, which car-manufacturer makes their own semiconductors, shock absorbers or tires. And even though the companies are foreign, some of them do have factories in India like Valeo(in Pune). Whole post sounds ridiculous.

Thats pretty much how most things are built post 1950s, check your own laptop, screen from china, chasis from china/vietnam, charger from malayasia, wired and fibre optics cables from India, keyboard plastic from India, motherboard from china/taiwan, GPU from taiwan/Japan.

The guy who posed it seems like a typical up his own ass, oversmart twitterati.

As I have written I dont promote his views
I just posted bcoz I found infographic which can be used as reference and many people were also discussing about the parts and indigenous ipr

But in long run we need to replace valeo's motor along with BYD's cells

It's a (((narrative-post))) peddling "Feku says Make In India but it's only Assembled in India, andh-bhaktha!"

It would be very expensive for Mahindra or any other company today to have everything in house, as the above guy said since 1950s outsourcing and ((( Buy from 5 places, make only niche technologies ourselves ))) is the norm.

Doing the whole Congi promoted """Make vs Assemble"""" semantics game is utterly retarded, it only makes sense for defence purposes to have a dependency-mukt supply chain where you aren't constrained by the foreign policy whims of your supplier countries.

Excerpt :

Wet Bengal’s big opportunity in toy manufacturing

Binjrajka also made a direct appeal to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to develop a dedicated toy manufacturing cluster in the state—a long-pending demand of industry stakeholders.

“West Bengal has all the ingredients to become a toy manufacturing hub—strategic location, seaport access, good logistics, raw materials, and labour. But the final push from the state is still missing,” he said.

He emphasized the sector’s potential as a major MSME employer, capable of generating significant investment and jobs in the region. “If India is to become a global toy supplier, Bengal must lead that movement,” he asserted.

Found the above to be unintentionally hilarious. Real tragi comedy when it comes to having hopes of Begum of West Bangladesh in her third term.

these are kind of people who believe in all or nothing approach just like our babus, they think every atom of a product needs to be built in India, even apples uses Samsung screens, despite being competitor, MFer doesn't know complex industries like these work.

Retards like these, will buy white labelled chinese stuff without thinking a bit but start whining if these are assembled in india

Lol. Expected response. Perception rules reality. You will understand this when you have 10 years more of maturity. You also have a tendency of speaking with 1/100th facts.

I think the point people intend to make is that the IP is not Indian. The IP is foreign and Indians are just doing contract manufacturing

Its value is very low because we don't allow any advertising ads on this forum.

It's not the value that I'm trying to illustrate. He insists (this is at least his second time saying this) only 100 or so people visit. Anybody with half a brain cell (I feel sad saying) would know this to be patently untrue.

I especially like how you chose this part of his answer to respond to .
Attributing what are negative traits of individuals to an entire people is literally racism . But no you seem to think that this judgement of certain Japanese people holds true for all indians which includes you incase you didn't realise.
An Indian supporting such views is not new it's just that we can safely categorize them as coolies.
Henceforth restrict your musings to this thread.

Bring on the hate. I'm ready for it. But what I have said is true, and how much of the world perceives Indians.
Why should we hate you when you do such a good job yourself
Japanese stereotype Indians to be unreliable, lazy, constantly looking for handouts, excuses for everything. Very negative perception.
