Indian Economy

Some damper in our manufacturing so called successes over the past year?
This news bit too short for any thing to say rn .

Undocumented economy can be documented by proper recording and bringing them into tax system.
Except their "undokyumented ekanamy" claims are as outlandish as porkis.

GST CAGR has outpaced nominal GDP growth consistently in the past few years - enough evidence that significant portion of the economy is yet to be formalized - rebasing will attempt to bring some of that into the GDP net. Pakroaches have no such indicator, their tax revenues barely grow.

the level of filth in India is not normal. Played the google maps game, and got this lovely view on first try, in vibrant gujarat after being ruled by BJP for 2 decades. do we have an urban planning thread?

yup. too bad for NRI jeetus. No amount of preaching 'akshually india is not so bad' to their gora friends will help, when the entire world can see the true beauty of vishwaguru on street view. 90% of indian streets are actual pure filth that will make even 3rd worlders repulse. For example, if you take a similar challenge in Inodnesia, you will notice roads are much better, generally have some form of lane markings, and streets are MUCH cleaner. Even their shithole streets in general are cleaner than the "clean" parts of India. A true ruler will personally use this as a benchmark and purge every politican and MLA where dirty streets is visible

well, just shows how smart our fellow forumers are..
really? Purfe every politician and MLA?
what are we China?

Filth in India has been part of parcel since before independence.
Some of you lot may be young but when we used to go to our grand pappy's village in my childhood, it was take a pot of water and go to fields to take a dump.

Viswaguru in 10+ years has changed this culture.
Unless you are a exhibitionist and want to expose your holes to a train full of passengers, there is always a toilet to take a dump.

Yes, there is filth in India
a large of sections of India are also very clean. pretty much available on same google maps.

want me to show you filth in Paris? LA? NY? London? I can show similar to Indian filth in these cities.

the usual response. Sure go ahead. Even the fentayl infested Philadelphia ghettos are still cleaner than most indian streets that is for sure, with better roads and pavements.

If you pin 'at random' you will get fields, forests, sparsely populated villages/hamlets, hills and mountains mostly - like 9 out of 10 times (possibly more), no? I was using a VPN to search for keyword 'India' on TikTok. Some memberan mentioned that TikTok was boosting anti India content since its ban in India so went to check for myself - came across quite a few of those 'Google map pin' videos and almost all of them went that way only (ie, mostly villages, fields, forests, random highways and empty coastlines).

if u care, than yes. we pay tax, police, court, make community, even hire bodyguards etc for our safety. do u think even then if u care about ur safety, u stop learning self defense or fighting for urself or others??

school times me plantation etc krne to most log jaate hai. although apke logic ke hisaab se to hume ve bhi nhi krna chahiye. coz government nd forest department etc hai hi vo krne ke liye bhi. but hum vo krte hai, coz hum environment ki thodi bhut to care krte hi hai.

I visited six random places in Gujarat on google street view. First place was a dusty, decrepit little village. thrice I was dropped amidst farms, once a spanking new park and a once in the courtyard of a brand spanking new intricately carved temple (it was stunning).

My conclusion, quite a bit of the stuff built in Gujarat is fairly new, well constructed and modern. All the structures I saw were pucca constructions, even in the dusty hamlet at the beginning. People tend to forget that a huge proportion of houses in India weren't concretised till a short while back. The scale of construction that happened over the last 10-15 years or so isn't talked about enough, and needs to be better documented. Agriculture's thriving in the state as all the fields I saw had healthy crops, even though they were evidently clicked at different times of different years.

You gotta remember that Gujarat's GDP per capita was less than $500 in 2001 when Modi took over. That's less than half of Bihar's current PCI. It was around $1200 when he left GJ, which is much lower than UP's per capita income right now. Fair to say that what you see in that picture is a legacy issue. Gujarat's a big state and it takes time to build things. People need to consider the efforts that have gone in to attain even our current state of being before levying broad criticism.
