I strongly believe there is some understanding or arrangement between Elon Musk and Russia.

India's PPP GDP is $16.02 trillion, USA at $29.17.
India's investments to GDP ratio = ~33% while USA at ~21%.

Will surpass USA in 2 years, for number 2 spot after China (again the gap between us and them will still remain humongous).

in simple layman's terms, PPP is what matters for the individual inside the economy.

Earning 100K in San Fransisco is the equivalent lifestyle of earning 40K in Idaho. What good is me having 10 bucks more than you, if your sandwich costs 2 bucks and mine costs 12 bucks ?
So purchase power matters to the consumer.

But in international trade actual dollar matters - nobody cares if your $1 buys you a can of coke only in USA and my $1 buys me an entire thali in India. What foreign trade cares about, is you pay me $1 for that is the asking price of my product and if you dont someone else will.

So in simple terms, the consumer cares about PPP more than real GDP. governments care more about real GDP, because when France says ' gimme 10 billion dollars for these jets', its real 10 billion, not purchasing power based value of 10 billion.

If he says no, he can forever kiss goodbye to any of his future business ventures in the (soon to be) third largest economy. Tesla or any of his other dealings will simply get blocked.

As for starlink, something as simple shutting down the payments will do. He's a business man afterall, there's only so much losses he can take.

PPP is a good measure for actual goods and services produced by a given economy. Which I would argue is the way correct way to measure the size of an economy. It lines up well with total energy production.

Economists use PPP for several things. Some economists created it.

Nominal is economic output in rupees dvided by the exchange rate. Is supposed to be a better measure of a countries heft when it comes to international trade. Which it can be.
