once in a while we keep giving gaalis to traditional moneybag families, on why they don't take risks beyond a point today or a few decades ago.

posting this data point here, so that we recognise while discussing this point that for us and gyanis, it is theoretical expectations. for people who were into business for decades they have lived experience of managing businesses during uncertain business climate.

Our social structure itself doesn't support risk taking. If a young man does not have steady regular income he is a loser in marriage market and in society in general.
When the youth are avoiding risks what to expect of old shrewd businessman.

your family is stopping you from taking risks is it?

So if GOI can maintain a sustained inflation rate. May be then big Bois will start R&D initiative.

not aware of any known theories on direct correlation between stable inflation and R&D. but there are theories on consumer demand influencing R&D.

one issue we have is that hardly any practitioners of private sector R&D in public domain, real talk by real engineers and scientists with hands on knowledge in r&d financing. and those who are in public domain, cannot resist themselves from succumbing to political "truth to power" type commentary.

what we have is humanities stream wallahs having full control on this topic like they give gyan on any other topic, we will never get in depth answers from these folks on any topic.

let's try this.

if anyone comes across any news article or content , where information is directly coming from technical practitioner of R&D in Indian context is talking about business of R&D, post it here.

make sure author or speaker is not a humanities stream wallah(economists, journos etc), not a business owner. basically avoid second hand gyanis. also avoid political baiting masquerading as tech. content.

let's see how much content exists in the first place.

I hope it is sustained

This officially makes India the third largest passenger car market in the world. Trump will be after India to lower the tariffs to American made cars. I don’t know why Musk still strongly feel that it has to test the market before building a gigafactory in India. It’s gonna miss out all that growth there.

it never will sustain. Thanks to India's 5th world town planning and even shittier urban roads and traffic management, car growth sales in most cities are severely reduced. Then you can add the high taxes/GST etc.

you mean we will have more fake "SUVs" crammed on broken potholed roads and crawling up non-existent pavements and running over people.

god save us.

You will be surprised the issues you mentioned doesn’t matter for first time car buyers

Most people who buy cars for commute prefer to chill in traffic in their noise proof AC cars rather than sweating it trying to catch a bus or haggling with autodrivers. Or standing in traffic on their 2 wheeler.

I'm more disappointed by the fact that we haven't achieved anything noteworthy on IT and tech front despite this sector being one of the first to get big.

Alot of these firms like Infosys, tcs should have developed a half decent proprietary software by now. I can't imagine why none of the big it firms haven't tried to be like tencent, who started out creating a small Messenger app and now own large ownership in bunch of popular online games.

Eastern Europe is booming with game dev with stuff like STALKER, escape from tarkov. Non existent r&d in this sector makes no sense other than , these firm think cause nobody in indian Market for being big for much video games ( kind of a half truth ) .

There is a pretty popular linux distro called whose primary devs and overall founder are indian. It's called Garuda os, pretty popular in linux gaming side. Remember "Hike messenger" , pretty sad story, it was popular among teens and millennials back in the day, had alot of good features, but because whatsapp had facebook, it gained more general audience outside the young modern folk sphere and hike had to shutdown in 2021.

Even when I was in college nibbers that got placed in one of the big IT companies were given a crash course with a test at the end of it. Those who did not pass had their offer letters rescinded. This is pretty normal. The number of guys just doing a job and waiting for MBA/govmint jobs in these IT companies is actually insane.
