Indian Economy

Amount of colleges and universities that do any real ounce of research is quite low in india. NEP should try to clear up academic structure in our higher edu institutes.

ktm bike company crisis :- ktm failed to sell 250000 bikes in europe etc. their debt reached near 2 billion dollars nd they filed bankruptcy. Bajaj comapny hv 48% share in KTM. good opportunity to grab even more share or whole company. Austria based company can shift their austrian production unit in cheaper countries. nd india is top option for this, coz we already building KTM bikes in india.
this youtuber copied a english youtube channel (fortnite) video nd just translate it in hindi😂...but u can understand what is current situation by it.

They are under restructuring and if things still fails then Bajaj or CF Moto will buy the majority stake.

BMW buys up all struggling auto brands, its likely what will happen to KTM

We should open our economy to all US car manufacturers.

Having worked with General Motors, I can tell you how incredibly tough it is to play in Indian market.
Most US brands will go the GM way and re-learn a few lessons.

I agree , real competitors for Indian OEMs are chinese brands, burgerland cars are unpopular around the world for a reason, they are too big for indian roads, use alot of fuel and would still be expensive with 0% tariff.

Bottomline is, this is 2025. Not 1025. Or solution to rains late for 2 weeks shouldnt be ' hey ram, hey raheem' like Lagaan. Those days should be gone or at least make it our mission to make those days be gone forever.
As long as basic climate metrics remain the same- aka, average rainfall, mean insolation hours, etc are yearly constants, it becomes a water storing and management issue.

In fact,we MUST look at rainfall in terms of forest cover data, beause it shows us that the problem is solvable and if we dont solve it, the problem will magnify:
Your observation IS correct and the logical conclusion is : weather patterns are becoming even more unstable, but India is still getting roughly same amount of rainfall today as it was 50 years ago per year.
That means, if we DO NOT manage our water, the problem will get worse, but if we DO manage our water, the problem is completely solvable.

So if anything, its even more incentive to fund river linkage project.
Managing Forest cover is one of the solution - which is genuinely establishing uninterrupted Forest corridors across country. River linking is again going to be even more issue - simply you forget some Rivers are getting less water - and sometimes they get more. People need year around water. Regions fight tooth and nail for any river linking or distributing attempt - case in point Krishna and Kaveri or Satluj Yamuna linking projects. Solve the first point - get enough forest covers - and create water storage solutions massively to first assuage immediate water problems. Once thats done - attempt river linking - only after assessing environment impact. It should not be reckless like dam building in Himalayas. You can see impact on Hills and downstream due to really brain dead planning.

You cannot create massive water storage solution without river linkage. The entire point is to store flood water from E & NE India for the droughts in rest of the country.
Forest cover ? Not do-able. This is India, not China. India's main issue is land acquisition by govt- it takes decades. To make forest belt is not only impractical in space usage in india currently, it is also not feasible in logistics of land acquisition. Canals on the other hand- much, much easier to do.

Holi business likely to surpass ₹60,000 crore this year

The festival is expected to generate ₹60,000 crore in business, a 20% rise from last year. The Holi festival is projected to generate business worth over ₹60,000 crore this year, marking a significant 20% increase from last year’s figure of ₹50,000 crore, according to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT). In Delhi alone, business activity is expected to exceed ₹8,000 crore, driven by increased consumer spending and festive enthusiasm.

Markets across the country are witnessing a surge in demand for Holi-related items, including herbal colors, gulal, water guns, balloons, sweets, dry fruits, and festive apparel. The growing preference for Indian-made products has further fueled trade, with traders reporting high sales of white T-shirts, kurta-pajamas, and salwar suits, as well as T-shirts featuring “Happy Holi” slogans.

Large-scale Holi celebrations have also contributed to the economic activity. Banquet halls, farmhouses, hotels, and public parks are fully booked for Holi events, with more than 3,000 Holi Milan gatherings being organised in Delhi alone. The demand for venues has added to the overall business momentum.

The festive season has brought heavy footfall to wholesale and retail markets, with shops fully stocked and decorated for Holi. Sweets shops are experiencing a sharp rise in sales, particularly for gujiyas and other festive treats, while unique water guns and spray-based gulal are trending among children and adults alike.

With Holi celebrations around the corner, the festival is proving to be a major economic driver, benefiting traders, retailers, and small businesses nationwide.

Canals and River Linking too require Land Acquisition and Vox populi in agreement too :)
Forest Cover required Land Acquisition :)
Very Frankly Rajasthan needs to turn into a Large Forest - and becoming great carbon sink for Indian sub- continent.

Indian media jhollachaps should stop taking every Tom, Dick and Harry seriously. The sheer hubris never stops to amaze;

Live AQI map of ccpstan;

Such clean air! Grape!! 🍇 🍇

Unfortunately, no website/app tracks rive water quality real time (none that I know of, anyway).

Ya'll remember the data I shared a few months back? Which showed that indonesia, viet have more polluted cities (based on annual avg AQI nos)?

Bad AQI is an unwanted byproduct of rapid industrialization and construction activities. Nobody has ever grown richer without polluting their cities.

The 'investor' shd consider investing in chinese stonks, btw. :cmegusta:
AQI is a delhi, gurgaon ( lesser extent noida) centric discourse, rest of the country doesn't really care about it that much.

bhaiyo, such projects of 'desh ka apna operating sistem' hurr durr shall at max remain limited to us forking some linux distro or android only,

because, the moment we made a PROPER desi operating system with even linux tier support and application of 10 years ago, weimerican tech overreach will start dying here

let me remind you, the same weimericans didn't even let Japan, their de-facto minion partner state, to successfully implement their OS that could've countered apple at least

^use google translate or deepl to read this japanese article

TRON project was not only indigeneous OS project by the japanese, it also followed their own encoding standard, that could have competed with muh Unicode

(1988 era pic of a japanese BTRON computer)
US did what a Strong nation like them should do.

But at the same time why to reinvent the wheel. Take any open-source OS and change few things and make an Indian version. Basically, what even China did, they simply replaced the encryption scheme with the Chinese encryption standard created by their universities and changed the backup and databases to local Chinese one in Windows and Linux distros.

US Auto manufacturers stopped producing small cars for few years.

Nowadays it is Soccer Mom SUV or the average burger loving American wignat Pickups.

Does US people needs Pickup? Answer is No?

But do they buy anything other than Pickup? Again No.

They are in some shitty phase with cars.

There is zero chance any car manufactured completely in US that will ever be a success in India.
The same fate awaits even Tesla. Not because they are not good cars but simply because they become too expensive by the time they land in India. They wil have to compete with cars that will offer a lot more for the buck.

The Indian Big 4 or 5 are having good profit quarter on quarter so the theory of thinner margins is just a smoke screen created to justify poor 2-3% hikes they are giving since last 3-4 years.

And look the CTC of the CEOs of these Big 5:
  1. TCS (Tata Consultancy Services): K. Krithivasan's annual CTC is approximately ₹25.36 crore.
  2. Infosys: Salil Parekh's annual CTC is around ₹79.75 crore.
  3. HCLTech: C. Vijayakumar's annual CTC is about ₹28.4 crore.
  4. Wipro: Thierry Delaporte's annual CTC is approximately ₹82.41 crore.
  5. Cognizant: Ravi Kumar S's annual CTC is around ₹186 crore.
I am not saying there should be a law to cap these salaries but there needs to be some self regulation in certain sectors where there is humungous different between salary of junior most staff and CEO.

Same applies to schools where the trustees and others get hefty salaries while the teachers are given peanuts in most schools.

New mineral oil deposits in the Arabian Sea; total area of 18 thousand square km near Dahanu, Tal Konkan

After a period of eight years, but for the first time since 1974 (after the then 'Bombay High'), new oil reserves covering an area of more than 18 thousand square km have been discovered in the Arabian Sea. These reserves are located near Dahanu and in the sea in the Konkan region. Central oil production companies will soon carry out exploration and exploration in that place.

Mumbai, Maharashtra and the sea and mineral oil have a close relationship. In the sea of Mumbai, a large deposit of mineral oil was discovered in 1974 at 'Bombay High', about 75 nautical miles away. Oil and Natural Gas Company (ONGC) is still extracting mineral oil there on a large scale. Through this, thousands of Mumbaikars have got employment. Later, in 2017, work started on two oil wells 'Amrut' and 'Munga'. Now, however, two deposits with a circumference four times greater than Amrut and Munga have come to light.
Under this, potential mineral oil reserves have been discovered in an area of 5,838.03 sq km in the sea off Dahanu and 13,131.72 sq km in the sea off Sindhudurg in the lower Konkan. Tenders have been floated for exploration in those places. 'Both these oil reserves are much larger than in 2017. This is the first time since 1974 that such reserves have been discovered offshore Mumbai or Maharashtra,' sources in central government oil production companies told 'Maharashtra Times'.
