Scorpenes themselves will cost rs35000 crore,again an outrageous amount,both deal added will be close to rs 90000 crore

35k cr for 3 kalveri = 4.4 billion usd
56k cr for 26 rafale =7 billion usd goddamn (maybe we are buying weapons too but still 270 million per jet is crazy out of my comprehension for sure)

Negotiations are going
But that's the demerit of low number orders
If u order just 26 u can't bargain much
That's why many suggested to combine the iaf and in deals and get best possible deal
But that didn't happen
And we all know French they will suck bone marrow from ur bones
Shouldn't be disappointed after knowing the mirage upgrade fiasco

This design looks much more advanced and stealthy than the Scorpene. And it comes with AIP and Li ion batteries!

I didn't think it was worth the money and delay before but now maybe it might be worth it if we can get technology transfer for future indeginous SSK and SSN programs.

Design looks more advanced sure, but how effective is shaping vs materials? We know the Kilos are legendary for their undetectability, and yet they have no specific shaping.

Plus this looks a new design - ergo delays and cost overruns. Are they asking the GOI to fund their R&D? In which case, they can forget about it. Or is it a modification of existing type 218SG or the Dolphin IIs?

What happened to own AIP developed by DRDO ?

Project 75I will be foreign design with JV Manufacturing. The bidders should demonstrate AIP systems.

Moving to Project 76 will be indigenous design where Indigenous AIP will come into play. The plan is to learn from 75I and move to 76. But as we know with Indian Defense Modernization it was decades behind and DRDO able to develop the prototype Working AIP. Now we will retrofit the DRDO one into Kalvari let 75I go as it is and then reuse the AIP for 76 which will be truly Indian Design.
