As a south Indian hindu, I find that North Indian Hindus are really pissed that there are almost no major temples more than 400 years old in North India.. What a shame!
Gukesh winning Chess WC as the youngest player ever (beating Kasparov) imo is one of the greatest sporting achievements for this country.

And what do we get from SM?

- most of them don’t even know/care about it.
- Telugu/Tamil people fighting for credit. (afaik He is telugu guy settled in TN)
- He won only because of “Dravidian blood’.
- He won because he is Brahmin. (Dimwits don’t know he has a kshatriya last name and think he is Brahmin because he puts vibhuthi)
- South vs North.
- Hindu vs Muslim.
- Hypernationalist posts on how this is a victory over China etc (Ding is a very good guy imo)

Why can’t it be celebrated as an Indian victory? Tbh I didn’t see this kind of stuff much when Neeraj won the Gold!

No wonder why our country can still be exploited by identity politics!

There is nothing wrong in feeling a sense of pride if a successful person matches an identity, but trumpeting about it as if that is the only reason really makes me sick.

The society needs to change drastically.
Most of the people doing this are also probably well to do and educated unlike the poor (who they blame) for voting for freebies!

At least for team events like Cricket, we don’t see this much and see some unity.
