anurag kashyap's original surname is singh lol, he is rajput, kashyap is gotra that's attributed to anyone who's not aware of his gotra and he made it his surname something, (ask any pundit doing kriyakarm, whenever they have a case of someone who's unaware of his gotra, they'd just use kashyap as gotra for him)

If you are a credible handle you should either post official reports statements etc.

On the language issue, do y'all know which state in india was first created on linguistic basis? :- it's Odisha. You won't hear about language politics here, hindi has been in curriculum since forever people learn it like they learn math, people watch Hindi serials and odia serial one after another.

There somethings we need to get clear about :- thete is no historical basis for a linguistic identity in india. For most of the history identity was strictly linked to your geography and location, today the kanging about linguistic identity relies the fact that people in past had a sense of unifying identity based on language they spoke.

Mosy of the today's states were created by "states reorganisation act" of 1956, which was brought in to counter separatist movement by dmk. People often tend to forget that, back in those days people identified with thier immidiate local establishment way more than some pan language based identity. Most people came from villages that spoke that particular language, and fun fact is these villages each had different languages, so in many places there could be a telugu village neighbouring 5 tamil villages or a kannada, telugu, mallu Village being next to eachother. This is how they have operated for thousands of years.

When states reorganisation act brought in ,many places where majority of the people didn't spoke the language of a particular state , got put in that state. Modern state boarders of linguistic states are completely arbitrary and have no historical basis.

You are correct. But some things have to change/adapt with modernity.
In the past, we did not require language-based states because our kings neither had the ability, nor the will to go imposing their maatri-bhaasha as bhaasha of their rashtra or jaagir or whatever.
Languages competed in organic fashion and being more or less equal in all respects except demographic weight, stabilized according to their sizes.

but we live in modern world now. Every kid goes to school. learns in a given language. we dont send runners from one mantri to another with seal of authority and word of mouth - we send reams and reams of writing.
So WHAT language is chosen to represent the working language of schools/gormint matters now. because NOW, if tamils took over as lingua franca of kerala, malayali will go dead.
Before, 1000 years ago, if a chola rajan inherited a jagir from a chera rajan and came over in suddh tamil, it doesnt affect much more than 30 people in his court.

I am not 100% sold on the idea of linguistic identity being absolute for state-hood, because i can see it as a never ending routine of division and maybe even scessionism, but at the same time, i also realize that we must 'protect' languages in certain capacity as in lingua franca of gormint or schools, else they will go extinct.

First linguistic state to be created was Andhra Pradesh out of areas of the Madras Presidency thanks to the fast unto death by Sriramulu ironically a Congressman himself, whose death galvanized the entire movement finally culminating in the first linguistic state which in turn lead to similar demands all over the country followed by GoI establishing the State Reorganization Committee to redraw state boundaries based on linguistics.
