Few days ago I had shared my experience with 3D printing. Today saw something very similar.

This thing may not matter much for say someone who's making earphones or microwave ovens as there isn't much to tinker with but for defence and aerospace this thing becomes substantial. The electronics in a missile may need to go through tens of different iterations before it's finalized. And being a sensitive technology you don't even have the luxury of bringing in China in the equation.

Just manufacturing itself is extremely tough here, let alone proper R&D

No, that's the power of institutionalized support from government as well as developed ecosystem.
Had I been in his place, would had chosen PCB of India, you never knew in future when NIA and WHY will come knocking.
Not to mention Chinese malware and hw tampering with hidden circuits
 
It's about message UN Generals are sending to private sector. TATA is a big company they can absorb the impact if IA rejected the WHAP but think about small company will they risk investment in defence??
Nah, they from now on will just feel easy whenever a private MNC will tell them "together we can export too", it helps, thanks to MKU for mass starting the trend.
