Indian Private Defence Sector

> There are already many players that are planning to set up ammunition production facility here in India. The window for new ammo producer is almost closed now.

> We've huge requirements for ammo during war but that doesn't mean we're going to buy them during peace. We already knew about the lack of arctic gear but did we bother buying them until Doklam happened?

> Just like any semi-socialist/capitalist country (even the muh Democracy Murica) things happen here in sinusoidal waves; "no war, money goes to ladli bhabhi yojna. Yes war, we scramble our a**es off to get weapons". No political party can afford sustaining the required WWR level without the usual drama if war is not imminent.

> No doubt world market is in short supply now because of Israel but at some point this demand will trough too. An by then factories in USA, Sweden, Germany and South Korea would be operating at their peak (already established mega factories like Nammo are supposed to scale up way faster then a firm that makes bulletproof jackets). So after war ends there would excess supply and prices would drop. How exactly are they going to compete with economies of scale when they've recently sunk this huge amount in CapEx?

What the world currently need are cheap, small scale, distributed, ultra automated ammo manufacturing facilities that can be left dormant for years and then can be started with just a couple of people as soon a conflict happens.

God knows what their thought process is behind this

which other companies are expanding and what are their proposed capacities? Adani will hit ~2 lakh. The other players are probably much lower as i can't find their capacities online. All PSUs combined have a few lakh 155 mm currently.
