I see a lot of Police personals carrying rifles this way, on the chest by sling.
Is this taught as a standard or they developed it themselves with time?
Can't we have a better posture and place to carry these rifles?

Being in us everyone would consider AR over AK due to cost
M72 seems nice
I think AK is better in my opinion
I don't think cost is a factor. You can get an AK platform for ~$500-700 like the ones from Century Arms, Riley Defense etc

There are pretty affordable ARs' available like PSA, BCA, S&W but for the most part, you'd have to replace parts after ~7k rounds. It's more about the modular design, ability to build from scratch using various uppers/lowers/butt stocks etc makes Americans gravitate towards ARs'

AKs' are good in terms of cost, usage in rugged terrain & harsh environments along with the reliability but there are certain ARs' which are on par with much better ergonomics

I ar parts are more available in usa and AK ammunition is expensive than ar

It looks like the CRPF (COBRA), DRG and State Police use the OFB 7.62mm GPMG as a SAW. There is probably 1 assigned per platoon and 2-3 troopers are trained and specialized on it's usage given the bandoliers of 7.62mm ammo carried by them.

Naxals have been using captured SLR/7.62mm as DMRs with long range scopes.

The scope itself looks like something purchased from IndiaMART for an Air Rifle.

You can also hear at 1:33 in the video that the police official also confirms the same.

Don't think the themself modified this , Have seen DRG/CRPF using FALs with sights for DMR role . They probably captured this after an ambush .

There is no documented usage of an LPVO scope on an SLR with either the Indian Army or CRPF.

The Indian Army has been known to use old BEL NVG scopes on the SLR for use as an SDMR.

Some police STFs, very sparingly used LPVO scopes with Brazilian IMBEL FN FAL rifles that were specifically imported or modernized old SLRs.

The rifle in the picture is an old Indian variant L1A1 SLR, easily recognised due to the wooden circular hand guard.

A picatinny rail adaptor may have been used with the IndiaMART scope of some kind of custom fitted adaptor.

I don't really believe that Naxals have the capital and know how to carry out such mods
