Bro i meant any pic other than this one.I had seen this one already
Yeah someone's definitely buying a new villa somewhere in the serene backwaters of keralaBro i too read from newspaper only. These ones will be to replace SLRs or 1960s AKMs.Commandos prefer older Akms over Ghatak or Tar.
Don’t know why it costs that much for buying Ak203 as we are buying from a govt firm. Yesterday i was trying to figure out how IPS officers is going to make money out of this procurement![]()
Someone get SSS to paint their guns in FDE as well!View attachment 30821
Thats called a functional gucci gun
I think full auto 7.62x51 mm fire was considered wasteful and inaccurate by the Indian Army which thought that a semi auto SLR would only be fired prone or with cover at an enemy from distance.
The BREN 1B was deemed to be sufficient for a SAW/LMG role and an SLR 1C full auto was considered redundant unless for LRP/Ghatak units (in frame).
The design was adopted sparingly to possibly provide a solution for mechanized units to fire from BMP firing ports while maneuvering since a BREN may have been too bulky and cumbersome in a constrained space.
For any close quarters combat, the 9x19mm 1A1 Carbine was deemed sufficient until the Indian Army came face to face with 7.62x39 mm AKs during IPKF (Sri Lanka) and Kashmir Insurgency at which point they became fixated upon the AK and finally in 2019 decided that the AK 203 would be the standard rifle.
As far as clones goes... Chinese ak 56 is superior than romanian pm md 90 amd 63s we generally used. That being said ak 103 modified (or 203 whatever you want to call it) is better than both of themAre we that down bad that we are using Chinese ak copies for sf units?
Is this price for FMJ or hollow point?i heard each bullet costs 56 rupees , that way too much ig. that's why we rarely use live ammos in training.
Disagree with your statement.Even the early pattern Chinese Aks are nowhere near Romanian Pm90s.As far as clones goes... Chinese ak 56 is superior than romanian pm md 90 amd 63s we generally used. That being said ak 103 modified (or 203 whatever you want to call it) is better than both of them
We can only dream of such foresightedness from the policymakers!but for future it's must to switch to standard fire selector thing when now we have a chance for going ahead with it
don't know this much about bullets. Is this price for FMJ or hollow point?
This is India sir. There will be an entire new tender, CAG will go apeshit for "altering the deal again", more red tapes, more delays because even a simple mod like this needs to be renegotiated in the presence of ancestral spirits under a full moon etc etc.View attachment 31153
now even russian made AK-203 are coming with this ambidextrous thumb operated fire selector + moving dust cover (on any fire mode) - we should get any future mass production of our local AK-203 in Amethi factory done in this manner too, after all soldiers using INSAS and SIG-716I would benefit a lot from common training here
I know our guys rejected russian pattern folding + adjustable length buttstock and opted for AK-74M pattern full sized side folding buttstock, whatever that's still acceptable compromise but for future it's must to switch to standard fire selector thing when now we have a chance for going ahead with it
don't know this much about bullets.. i was quoting normal INSAS 5.56 bullet price.
HPBT custom loads will also display some level of discrepancy in performance ?Situations like these is where HPBT plays a difference over ball/FMJ. The later is hardly used in live ops and is mostly reserved for training purposes due to it's low price while HPBT is far more precise with superior ballistic performance due to higher ballistic coefficients, better aerodynamics resulting in slower velocity decay, less wind drift and lesser drop at long range.
HPBT is the norm for snipers due to their long-range precision since it stays supersonic upto ~1500 yards with better stability thru transonic phase along with controlled expansion on impact while FMJ transitions to subsonic at ~1000 yards risking destabilization along with limited expansion & possible over-penetration on impact (which isn't ideal for soft target effectiveness)
I'm sure CRPF officials might've been supplied with Jewishalong with kickbacks to get SSS disqualified
