yeah the SSSD guys are now expanding their AR series with proper prototypes in different configurations, like starting with plain ol' AR15 copy to forking a short stroke gas piston system rifle and now making something like CMMG Mutant here,
as for the 5.56mm NATO vs INSAS goes, i've heard from some peeps that it's not that INSAS ammo can't be used with regular NATO rifles, it's not recommended as it's got more chamber pressure and overall bullet length is slightly longer and it requires 1:6.x some barrel twist (that's on regular INSAS) i.e. a slightly more tighter twist ratio than even regular 1:7 to spin the bullet properly, so on rifles like Tavor it cycles much faster and wears it out sooner - if SSSD guys have taken these all in account to strengthen this build enough for INSAS ammo, then it's gold - and if it can take INSAS pattern nose-in-rock-back chhap magazines ('specially newer pattern ones that's not transparent, provided by FAB chhaps) then it's sone pe suhaagaa
know what i think, it's perhaps time they make a 5.56x30mm MINSAS pattern carbine in AR platform just as proof-of-concept thing, Colt already made a 5.56x30mm MARS carbine PDW thing in past
