Does this means , insas round is more powerful ?
It's more powerful than a 55gr. M193 ball round. It's similar to other 62gr. SS109 and the US spec M855 ammo. INSAS with it's 1:7inch barrel twist could run all 3 of these 62gr. rounds. All 3 rounds have steel perpetrators.

I still dont get the old rumours about 5.56 not being able to kill terrorists in Kashmir, 7.62x39 being way better. From what i have seen from war footage people seem to drop like potato sacks after being hit. Any Idea why the rumours started?

I can't speak for the troops who have had the experience. But the M43 spec 7.62x39cal FMJ rounds are 123gr. And at 250-300 meters it simply kills faster in an urban environment. It also fragments less and creates deeper wounds. An INSAS/SS109 spec round makes shallow wounds and fragments more easily so it's great for incapacitating quickly. But that heavy 123gr. bullet retains more energy after 200 meters, post body armor penetration. (In practical usage scenarios) the penetration energy you get by firing a SS109/INSAS from a 18-20 inch barrel can be easily replicated by an AK firing that 123gr. FMJ from a 15-16 inch barrel. Also the 5.56 rapidly loses fragmentation possibility after 300 meters, and doesn't work well after going through soft cover like a dinky wall or shed. I can't reason better than this, because I don't know the full engagement envelop in a CT op.

Anyone keeping tab of how many different kinds of standard ammunition IA using at this point :bplease: :bplease: :bplease:

We produce most of these locally right?

For tavor and m4 replacement sss m72 makes more sense and more logical than arad if it satisfies army in performance it will able to fire insas 5.56 x 45 and nato 5.56 and its not 🪛
But knowing how whats gonna happen its just my khyali pulav but with new ARDE carbine as L1 you never know
With "certain" improvement (buttstock, furniture , you can add more) 14" ARDE carbine would also do i guess similar platform but again i don't see it happening it just make more sense

@BlackViking start working on the picatinny adapter for the carbine and maybe a quadrail type handguard if possible. Someday a tender will come up for upgrades for sure.

The nice part is someday a new tender pop up where certain modifications were required for the ARDE Carbine. Maa Durga Enterprises will win this and add some nice FAB Kits.

Isn't the tavor being replaced with new "flat top" tavor?
As far as i know Not all tavor were being replaced most of new ft tavor were for airborne units who didn't have enough tavor there were strong rumors /indication time to time by defence Bros that arad will replace tavor and m4 some one even said Marcos already have few arad with them if thats all true or not i don't know but MOD will need a replacement for tavor and m4 and tavor ft won't cut it if we look for future x 95 will do it but unlikely

Even with as furniture ARDE carbine it doesn't matter much for infantry as at most they would put it is a rds/hws or TI/ night sight with maybe a flashlight so current cheap polymer furniture will do for infantry

I had worked on this Picatinny-based rail adaptor after @johny_baba suggested it in the old DFI. But my offering was shot down.

Nevertheless, I'll try getting into this carbine. The furniture is indeed not ergonomic, considering the modern battlefield, and I expect a redux of the AK203.

Older Tavors are being kitted with a 2-piece top-rail system. Though I would have preferred a 4-piece solution, 2 at top, 1 bottom and one at the side (opposite to the one with the charging handle).
