Indian Special Forces

Can't say about seals but green berets were running MICH well upto 2010s ig. Delta on the other hand had their hands on all prototypes first.. I mean this is jamey from around the time of tora bora, leave out the helmet, binod and comms part and it's pretty much on par of our today's equipmentView attachment 6023

Jamey caldwell pic is from Iraq c.2005-07 and he's wearing a MICH this is Iraq gear. I am pretty much positive that DEVGRU was the first unit that started the High-cut ballistic helmet thing. Aise delta was using Pro-tec skater helmets since grenada days but those things aren't ballistic rated. These Nods are Anvis 9s probably though I've heard they were running Fused Thermals by the end of this war. Anvis 10s (papa of GPNVG-18) also came from this war.

Paras procured the armasen PCs with the chest pouch as they are not gonna use ATAKs looks like they will go down the same path as MARCOS and mount their L3 on their back and use KDU to use the radio that they would mount on their chest pouch .

An L3 harris KDU

Now the thing is where are MARCOS's KDUs mounted ??

Only the Comms specialist in MARCO squad/prahar utilizes the KDU connected to the 7800 HH rest use pre-programmed presets on their 7850-SPR <- this again depends upon the op honestly.
And sir, All Para units are gonna use ATAK-esque BMS that came along the L3 Radio package

then why did they procure chest pouches for all their PCs , are they planning to run with their mobiles ? or are these PCs for comm specialists only ??

PCs are for the whole unit and I personally believe the chest pouches are for these mobiles that will run the BMS -

Every country in this world has a better navy than the Army because of more educated and humble people.

A naval pilot becomes a pilot for few years then returns to his trade leaving no margin to develop cocky attitude.

Look how the US marines are better than the US Army despite being from Navy.
The real reason for this could be
  • It's harder to train in water than on land, life at sea demands a high degree of self-reliance and teamwork, which can build resilience and leadership skills.
  • In the navy, everyone needs to be able to communicate better, infact in the Indian Navy, even to become a sailor you need to know spoken and written english. Just search it up and you will find English and Hindi debating competitions at INS Chilka which sailors have to go through
  • Naval operations often require a higher level of technical expertise, from engineering to navigation. This can lead to a perception of higher educational standards. The avg Navy recruit comes from SSR (Senior Secondary Recruit) where the avg sailor needs to pass till 12th standard with a compulary PCM (Physics, Maths & Chemistry) and needs to have minimim 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Millitaries around the world which have been Naval dominant have prooven to be expeditionary and more adapt to change - be it Romans, Greeks, Persians, Cholas, Ming Dynasty China, Japan, US, Britian, France etc

I was once working with a Naval Aviator when i was young in my career and we were talking about casual stuff like golf and tennis in our long flight.

So i asked him "Capt,In my experience i have found out Naval officers to be very well spoken and precise but when i fly with AF guys i cant say the same with all due respect"

He smiled and said there are 2 reasons for that..

1.We are always working as a family and know one mans mistake can bring the entire ship down.

2.We never serve in one trade like aviators or commandos for a long duration and always return to our original trade.

Seriously man, talk to some old school Para SF guy and they are so humble and down to earth about their experience. They are camera shy guys, they'll really motivate you when you see them.
Listen to these people, they have such amazing stories and are so humble you'd not hear from them had they not been asked to do a podcast.
Look at these shorts and tell me

Bhai generation has changed now Insta reels and shorts are the cool factor we have had legends and we will have legends in future too but something needs to be done to keep this in check you can't be an sf guy making bloody reels haven't seen Marco's do that(baring their swimming reels but that's just fitness content not anything related to their services)

You know former Navy SEAL Chuck Pfarrer said this about Naval operations once
"A soilder will fight on many battlefields but will almost always never fight on the same battlefield twice, but a sailor always fights on the same battlefield - his ship, and when a soilder dies they burry him and the entire regiment marches on but when a sailor dies, you are right there and you see his empty hammock, you see his empty chair on the mess table. "

yes that is true, for naval officers, being at MARCOS is a billet not a career. Most officers in MARCOS, SEALs, SBS whatever...

never spend more than 3 years in an operations field with their men.
Then they roll into a training department, go out for postgraduate work, become XO and CO. Then when they come back for 2-3 years, they are more into a training role with their guys then they'd get to operate or lead one deployment with the boys (like in Kashmir) after which they go back to warships and then MSc course before being promoted to commander. Afterall they are executive branch officers and have to have all round experience to grow in Navy. Later as Commander they come as XO of MARCOS units and as Captains they command MARCOS units.

They just wont serve in Submarines however, exept one - who has been a MARCO, been a submariner and been a Everest climber, I forgot his name. But he was a technical officer so he was sent back to his traditional branch after 3 years as a MARCO and did not come back, unlike most others. The navy does not take anymore technical officers as MARCOS.
