Procurement and implementation is both flawed
I don't know what are they going to do with 7.62 x 39 against a conventional army in mountains

in kargil only josh , mindset and determination of our soldiers won us war btw things are going we maybe going for similar circumstances

In open ranges maybe but is 7.62 x 39 effective against body armour in mid and long ranges in mountains

Few points to consider:-

- Marcos are not supported by NVG troops.

-Marcos cannot conduct the whole op on their own.

-Tactics is build around the weakest link.

This is the weakest link..no nvg..no optics..most have patka.

Despite being seen with nvgs theres little marcos can do.

Israel was literally able to kick the shit out of a country 1000 km away and made it so scared of attacking Israel again and cause casualties. That was with US help and technological prowess.

Indian strategic assets would be made mincemeat in hours in a conflict against US. Indian Navy would be sunken in matter of hours and Indian Air force wiped out or rendered ineffective in a week or so. It could never directly challenge USAF even over Indian skies. USAF elint capabilities are simply too overwhelming even in an expeditionary role. India is literally behind US like about 34 years. India hasn't even caught up to the 1991 Gulf War prowess level.

The country that is closest to US warfare technological capabilities is Israel, then Japan, and then maybe UK. France is behind UK.

These pics are about a year old from Exercise Ekatha 2023 with Maldives National Defence Force.
Most probably, these earmuffs were used only for display purposes or traning demonstration.

Apart from this exerercise, I haven't seen MARCOS using thses specific earmuffs.

Here are the complete pics:

Makes sense then. Demo/training use only. Will repeat it again. Marcos are probably the only SF unit in IA who know what they are doing and what standards they want to achieve.
