Indian Special Forces

So, no chance for SIG MCX?
I would have said no before but after sig opening JV in India if they ever lobby (they are fantastic at this thing even better than making guns ask @VictorDelta4 ) so it's possible if they are interested but idk how long it will take for the JV to be up and running and will they ever produce anything other than 716is.

Let me just put it this way.. Sig would put the whole "Bofors scandal" to shame if they wanted to or start "Lobbying" in India. However, they have the biggest chunk invested in US so they wont spend a lot of time or investment in other markets unless its a HUGE deal.

The original article + infographic is behind a paywall ig (Sandeep Unnithan/IndiaToday).

But here's the list:

P.S. Only new stuff bought includes Sako snipers, LSVs, Beretta pistols & MK4 recoilless rifles.
Could you DM me the paywalled link. I will try to go around it and see if it works.

The MCX ?
To do the same job as a SOPMOD 2 M4 at an increased cost ?
Cause we're sure as hell won't consider the .227 round.

See this is fine, this is superb.

Now, is the Spear LT a better gun overall than a SOPMOD 2 or a URGI ?

Yes. But is it worth buying a stock Spear for 2500 bucks + GST, when you could get a fully loaded M4 (with the rifle) for that price or less ? NO, not in India.

Also apparently the Spear's barrel and handguard both like to flex. And when the barrel isn't flexing, it's moving around. And the nasty set screws holding the handguard tend to wear out.

No point, bois. From what I can tell, it's gonna be another decade of Tavor FTs and M4s. There's a little bit of hope for the Arad but that's about it!

Also, tf happening at this year's Vajra Prahar?! No media whatsoever.
