Bro Americans in Vietnam have done missions we cant even imagine of.

Staying in enemy territory for days to take one shot of a VietCong General and then slowly crawling back in many days..sometimes crawling very short distance in a day…hitting vietkong camps after crossing other countries.

My logical mind doesnt understand the joke of making fun of americans…had he said the same about other European countries except UK and France i would have laughed my ass off too…

But the jokes on us!

So many years have passed since our SFs have done a truly major special operation (wont be fighting for this one, definitions for special op may vary for some). And are doing CICT encounters in the name of Combat exposure.

sure sure....the MACV-SOG era...but many Americans feel that the lessons of Vietnam were almost forgotten especially in late 1980s and almost throughout 1990s, now dont get me wrong Delta and ST-6 were squarred away. However the larger ones - SEALs, Green Berets etc were not. It was GWOT that came neccesary for the Americans as the ultimate guru. But during this time they were more focused on high speed raids and over-reliance on technology. Many of the recce missions which would've not gine wrong at the time of Vietnam, went horribly for the yankies - Annaconda, Red Wings etc. This does not mean they're nothing...by early 2010s they regained that expertese having been in a global conflcit for a decade. The Peak of American SOF was Veitnam in terms of being ballsy, Iraq in terms of being speedy, 2009-2012 in terms of being able to do unimaginable missions (check Maersk Alabama, Capture of Ahmed Abdulkadir Warsame, Operation Octave Fusion and all)
For the Brits - they were ballsy all the time, that's just it

Maybe thats because we have a image of SF being HE MEN who run or walk 50 kms to fight and against all odds return unscratched.

Times have changed..Americans have tech where they land right on top of the enemy…

veitnam war americans were a different breed.. the mindset... the missions they did... considering maybe 30-40% of the info about that war is still classified.. cuz lets be a honest veitnam was a mess a huge mess.. and no side played fair. units like macv sog and green beretets,, the missions they did oh lord damn everything wasnt down to perfection but taught them a lot. veitnam introduced the americans with concept of large scaled guerilla warfare.. and war in subtropical humid terrain.. veitnam paved the way for special ops regardless of that, the modern americans are still their progeny as they have exceptionally shown in afghanistan, iraq and GWOT.. the american approach to adapt to any situation either using superior tech or brute force will remain unchalleneged for a long time

But who do you think will make a better 21st century SF probee

A guy like Lucky Bisht or a guy like Hav Diginder singh?

I think Lucky bisht…SFs job is these days 5th gen warfare where they set the narrative building by being active participants.

Heroes like Hav Diginder are more suited being in Infantry!

(I made the poor example to highlight the role of SF by choosing 2 extremes)

U almost make it sound like he does it intentionally - he is just the evolved version of the 6 para sf wolfdevil reels dude

A few months back I saw a video of him mobilizing the Jai Ho gang against a Journalist who was onto his BS, He said something like 'Aap Journalist hai thodi apni responsibility samajhiye Desh meh manipur ka muda nhi uthate par Lucky Bisht pe shakk karte hai' 😂

Be grateful to god that atleast we have a SF to start with (Dont think the current brass would even have created one if it was absent till now) ,
as we have not even started anything on Narrative Building and Cybersecurity. (Which I think is not be done primarily by some SF element)

It has become a fancy word to throw around by Gens and our Ninda Turtle mantri in speeches similar to 'AI and Quantum Capabilities' yeah whatever the fuck that means in an organization which posts a pic of Sterling submachine gun with a caption containing the phrase 'Path to Modernization'

fair it's just modern technology making our lives easier and that doesnt make them pussies, they're still tough. I mean....taking multiple concusions to the head, living and breathing around explosives and firearms with your ears ringing and still operating, doing more than 500 freefall jumps per JSOC operator requires something.

Espionage and HUMINT is revolved around being good at schmoozing, and that guy is the least articulate fellow of any intel service I have ever seen. Lucky Bisht's just lucky......I'll leave it at that, I still doubt he's genuine.
 
i believe the hiring pool for marcos will improve if navy implements something like a marine org under it .

At present their recruitment pool is limited as most go into navy for technical skills instead of warfighting .
