Delusional take on MARCOS. With more operative exposure they can hundred percent be on par with top tier western nations SOF.

Without institutional reform there’s 0 chance

Top tier units in the west have direct access to executive control and have mammoth support infrastructure.

MARCOs are the best of a bad bunch in India but they are nowhere near as strategically recent as DEVGRU- DEVGRU having good gear is a symptom of a proper command structure.

You’re absolutely dreaming if you think an Indian unit can be on par with the top most western SF under current structures and if you actually believe that then you are ignorant of how those units are run- it’s not as simple as issuing RFIs and getting nice gear.

You only say that because the IA has systematically failed to train its soldiers how to handle it or shoot it, most of them hold it like it’s an AK

That said whoever came up with the idea that they should go back to issuing 7.62x51 rifles as standard issue are the same geniuses who issue them with iron sights

The same country issues these freaking battle rifles for VBSS ops

Even if they master the weapon, SIG is still unfit to be a main battle rifle

Too long of a rifle + Ammo type (recoil effects of that)

Could be used mid range and above really well (not like a DMR) but still nothing like AK203

You guys are cribbing about standardisation since decades ( since Kargil war I believe) . Has any thing changed ? Sab waisa hi hai
