Indian Special Forces

Om Shanti brother very sad to have lost a brave soldier but man oh man he was a legend an career to boast about dang sure his family is super proud of him and that's too many deployments in just 5 years marcos are busy dudes any clue about the accident was it a parachute fail?
yeah yeah it happened last year...his chute got entaggled in electric power lines and what followed I think was that his parachute caught fire and he got electrocuted

Their profile is raids using vehicles on plains and deserts.

Why to put them where small teams concept survives?
no afterall rangers and pathfinders performed well in Afghanistan too. The closest to 10 Para's type of ops are SAS/SBS/Pathfinders mobility troops. But the thing is those SMUs train alot for other types of ops too. What do we see from 10 ? They sometimes dress in black and slither down windows but that's about it. That too room intervention with an Uzi 😭

A company size troop is sent which is an attachedment and not the whole unit moving to Kashmir.

They operate with 9 or 4.
han han that only ofc Kashmir is not their AO. They are even placed with MARCOS up top and as I have read in some citations of MARCOS guys, 10 Para guys are usually the support element while MARCOS served as the assault element

More of an augmentation than support. 10 Para has operated in Ganderbal distt and Bandipora distt too which comes in Marcos' AO. Op Lawanz (2008) was one of their biggest ops. Many Hikers used to meet them at the penultimate point of Great lakes trek ;)

Offtopic ; in DFI we had chatted that only 9 had small team concepts in Lanka neither 10 nor 1 had.I had chatted with Sapru sir in insta and asked why they never tried the small team concepts to which he said 1 had experimented with that concept in Lanka but with bad results against well trained ltte so they worked in 16-20 man teams .They lost some 35-36 men .

Teams of 10 are deployed in various times. Not the entire unit.Only 21 is not deployed in recent times.Others send men in rotation .4 and 9 has permanent presence.
Aree I know the only units that deploy as full size units are the ones which are based there 4 & 9. Not sure about 1 but dont think so cause they are not under NAC
Also MARCOS did alot of small team operations in Lanka, 40 guys usually operated in teams of 2-4 on patrols and larger ops as 16-18 guys and no more. They did 55 direct action missions in a year and lost no body. 1 MVC, 2 VCs, 10-12 Nao Sena Medals and various CNS

They in fact call themselves as mountain rats.
From colonel awadhesh's own words

Either the officers he met weren't even born in 80s... or he's just straight up lying about the whole story.
The latter has higher chances because I don't believe any "officer" from 9 is this negligible about his battalions history

Exactly, A company is sent on rotation.
They had some operations in 8 men teams I guess, from what I have seen in photos, plus also wasnt Capt Pawan a part of a small team in the Pampore Encounter94177e01c26f1d4e378b46dfec662eed.jpg
