Arad is a good rifle, but despite having SSS Defense's M72 (which seems to have a short-stroke gas piston prototype nowadays) if they're going after some imported maal which's more or less similar...

Arad is much more 'proven' or 'Field-Tested' than M72 even in special ops
Yes, that field tested part will only be achieved if army uses it and provides feedback but that shouldn't be done with SF units which will be using them right away in ops

Arad which best to my knowledge isn't in active service with idf or any other military is more proven or tested how ? just by internal trials i am not talking just about you but why does so many users online simp for arad because its called mini hk 416 well there are to many short stroke gas piston rifle in market and I have a feeling it would be overprized as well

i think most likely iwi will play same card as tavors for India for export and money and later most of the needs of idf is full filled with more refined much better x 95

honestly its not just m72. We are not hearing anything about any other ar rifles apart from arad. And arad is def not one of the best ar rifles out there.

ARAD IS SHIT but premium shit compared to what we have in service and all that field tested thing goes to SHIT as well when you know PLR is making ARAD for India

I hope for the best but for now, arad is the best 'possible' outcome i.e actually getting in service and kick out old SOPMODs and TARs

Edit: Arad was in service with some Israeli SFs but probably hated it. Frankly, Field Tested here means 'some other military has taken this into action before us'

Also, dont think of the weapon as too shitty reading this - Israeli standards are high for their SF stuff but still

(Khyali pulav) Best course of action for us would been chinease way issue same rifle to infantry and sf and other units and then issue seprate standard sopmod kit for sf with silencer , optics , lam , better furniture than infantry varient

Still apart from arad there are lot of good option but nothing will happen in the end we will get arad knowing our genrals
But I forget its india i doubt our genrals even had idea they could do sometihing like that

This mindset is one of the factors our Armed Forces is what it is today as far as small arms is concerned...

Let the forces buy what it finds suitable and meets the QRs? No!!

Force em to buy things that they don't want or the thing doesn't meet the QRs? Hell Yeah!!
