This is some good stuff, all these guys (the ones creating this situation and defending it) deserve is mockery at this point, maybe that’s all that will work to pierce the false image of a super capable, super credible institution filled with the best of the best. If they are seen as another ineffective PSU they may have to justify their sorry state and thus do something about it- VERY optimistic take. I fully expect them to look like this in 15 years

Sad on one hand that a ‘professional’ isn’t being taught enough by his own organisation but actually quite satisfying too- hopefully Indian officers DO use their free times to go down the rabbit holes most of us defence nerds have except unlike us losers these guys can learn AND apply this stuff to the real world and hopefully impart some knowledge to those around them like the leaders they are meant to be

The military of any nation does not let the open flow of ideas to happen.

They are a hierarchy based setup and very different from our environments.

There if a senior discusses or asks a junior some doubts its considered as incompetence and hence people there more often take wrong decisions.

The concept of CRM which you and me would be knowing since early 2010s was only made a course in the IAF in 2017-18 i was told by a Pilot.

Imagine a force from WW2 era starting a basic human behaviour course that the world adopted in 1970s being adopted in 2017!!!

How would the cockpit environment be can you imagine..now multiply it by 10 for Infantry and SF!!

On one end we have such officers and on the other we have officers (col. and above) beating up another officer just because he stepped on a shoe of the general officer commanding of an area at a party (that too orders from the gen himself) - it was a support role unit so can't say if this happens in all units.
I don't have a f**king clue how their brains actually function.

So that the mistakes 10th Para during Jaffna drop is not repeated . their were quite a few collateral civilian casualties as they were not trained in room intervention .

after the success of ISIS , Hezbollah now a days every invasion even if it is successful quickly turns into an insurgency .
Say if we ever have to push into Bangladesh , kanglus will for sure launch an insurgency taking local minorities as hostages . Forcing us to start room intervention and HR.
