Information Research Department was an propoganda arm of british govt during cold war, which was disbanded in 70's.

IRD operated in India with the blessings of GoI, with the condition that propaganda against soviets is a no-go, but against china is allowed.

they had employed 400 influencers and two publishing houses to disseminate anti-communist propaganda in India.
