Depends on how either war goes I guess. India's red lines also are if a significant amount of territory is lost or China targets population or industrial centres it will seriously consider exercising the N option. It seems the CCP thinks it can get away with snatching territory from a N armed state. Well , that there is food for thought.

That's probably the reason you're not seeing much activity in terms of arms building & procurement by India.

The Brahmaputra gains most of its waters when it enters India. As far as affecting the population goes , it primarily flows thru Arunachal Pradesh before entering the plains in Assam. Now Arunachal Pradesh is as sparsely populated as Tibet. It has ~ 1 million inhabitants .

Moreover when you're diverting a river to transfer water to canals & generate power the pathway is laid & it's mostly within your territory.

If you damn rivers that feed Northen India, you are inviting war anyway.. and its not Govt will automatically do it. People especially farmers will force Govt to do it. Which makes tibet dams legible targets. But given Chinese policy of treating attack on dam as nuke attack, it will respond with nukes. Forcing India to expand target options to three gorges too. China or India shall have phyrric victory but real victory shall be of US and west. As asian challenge gets delayed by few more decades.

Well said . Right now the CCP thinks they've absolutely no challenger in the world except the US.

I've a very strong feeling it's this sentiment which will prompt them to launch a border war across the LAC against India & will land up in much the same spot Russia has landed itself in the war against Ukraine except Russia doesn't have a Taiwan to take as part of its unfinished agenda.

And once the Chinese commit this folly it's goodbye Taiwan for the rest of this century & all the gains China's made in the past 4 decades will go down the drain. This is also exactly the kind of break the US is looking for to regain the initiative .

They'd shift all their industries back to the US or to countries they can control . The EU will follow suit & we're looking at yet another century of western domination.
