Green nod came too soon... Army must thank it's stars that no full combat got initiated with China in between.
"The DG said the force prepared a "forwardisation plan" and, as part of this, a total of 56 ITBP border posts along the India-China Line of Actual Control (LAC) were being brought "closer" to the front."
Going forward moodiji will stop criticizing lehruji on chini policy.Maybe already initiated.
Why that face? It is a good move on India's strategic planners because ITBP will be a tripwire while they can serve as necessary manpower for patrolling and surveillance, freeing up crucial IA manpower and preserving them from first strike attacks.
So what, another Kadi Ninda Type statement will be issued."Pentagon exposes China, says it still has 1.2 lakh troops, Howitzers, missiles and even tanks near Indian border"
Pentagon exposes China, says it still has 1.2 lakh troops, Howitzers, missiles and even tanks near Indian border
Chinas military presence along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) remains unaltered since the 2020 Galwan clash, with a significant troop presence and advanced weaponry in place. The Pentagons report reveals Chinas growing nuclear capabilities, naval power, and military tensions with Taiwan...m.economictimes.com
Irrespective of USA , china has historically armed pakistan, bangladesh, nepal, srilanka and anyone else.its strategic support and arms supply to Pakistan is solely intended to keep India in Check. Yet there are Chinese apologetics who still yearn for Hindi Chini Bhai Bhai.
That means ITBP needs to get more training and resources and better officers.TLDR; ITBPs are inadequately trained to handle Chinese.
Chinese use specialised border regiments for border patrolling which are like recon battalions, and of course are part of PLA. This gives PLA direct command & control over the situation and formations, clear channels of communication and escalation wherever required.
Whereas on our side, we have 2 different command structures, IA (and rest of Armed Forces) and ITBP (reports to HM). Philosophy of handling the situation is different, and is just as you would expect.
Army responds with brawl, intimidation and muscle power whereas ITBPs written philosophy & command is just meek negotiation (never works).
Army thinks ITBPs are incompetent pussies and ITBP thinks Army is thick-headed bull. There is a mistrust among them.
Also its pertinent to mention a big reason for our slow response during initial days of April-May 2020 during Chinese capture of forward areas was because ITBP failed to not only gauge the gravity of the situation (a full-fledged invasion not a minor incursion/scuffle) but also failed to report it to Army upper command.
Actually its needs to be under MoD and under Army Leadership. ITBP, Assam Rifles both need to be under MoD. They should have same training curriculum as Army (which I am to understand from ancient rants from DFI to DFB that its not great anyway)That means ITBP needs to get more training and resources and better officers.
When I was in north Sikkim I saw many caverns (one was large enough to have 2 trucks drive in side by side) and partially hidden caves with metal shutters. There was no obvious way for civilians to reach these areas. I also saw some t72s hidden in fake buildings and plenty of fake tanks at some points along the valley there.
I don't think actual ammo storage and other preparations are publicized the way acquisitions are.
PS these were in addition the very obvious army bases and posts.
That means ITBP needs to get more training and resources and better officers.
Meh .. When most folks here seem to think that ammo storage is held up by the green tribunal some reality check is in order. Heck I did not even mention all the cleverly hidden helipads either.

The things I saw were literally from the main civilian road I had no special access.. All I'm saying is there is a lot of preparation atleast defensively not what the bhosdapilllers would like to believe.Do not go public with opsec sensitive info. Keep it to yourself.
