Indo-China Border & LAC

If Bhutan actually merges with India , there'd be no buffer left & all the territories lost to Chinese salami slicing becomes ours to claim not to mention this will act as a grave provocation to China.

You can bet the next war then will be triggered by seeing them attempt something similar to Doklam in 2017 but with a full fledged army along with ALL the supporting elements.

At the same time , our options are limited . Even if there's no merger & Bhutan tries its best to postpone the inevitable by stalling talks like it has done in the past , China'd still come calling with similar force levels as described above to force the issue. Bhutan is simply in no position to oppose them . What will our response be ?

Whichever way the problem is diced , confrontation becomes inevitable. We just cannot permit the Chinese into Doklam being passive to their aggression , expecting the best . Appeasement has never worked nor will it work in the present day .

Sure but with Bhutan being our dependant by treaty militarily, bhutan's salami slicing claims become ours anyways - just to a lesser degree than if bhutan was Indian sovereign territory.

Ultimately having Bhutan also means we create a flank around Chinese dagger thrust position in Doklam by chicken's neck and close ranks to tawang. Those alone are worth poking the dragon for because if we poke the dragon by improving our defence on chicken's neck, so be it.

Dragon is a mythical animal, with many ascribed superpowers and qualities

Elephant, Tiger etc are all real animals.

I mean it's apt for China since nobody has actually seen their military capabilities, people only see their production and rapid iteration capabilities and start dhoti-shivering.

RULE #1 of adversarial contests : never ever underestimate your enemies. our ancestors did with the mleccha from the western lands. Look at nateeja.

chinese have surpassed US in satellite tech

a SAR satellite in geosynchronous orbit that can see large portion indo pacific , and its orbits right over the andamans / nicobar islands .

they can track our naval ships 24hr / 7 with this . and they published technical details on it as well

It's ability of real time tracking and targeting and it being on higher orbit( Harder for a Asat missile to hit).
Balantly tells, it will be used to guide df21 anti ship MRBM to target american carrier group.
And in future will also be used to guide anti ship varient of df17 hgv under development.

That also tells us about another great feature of our LRASHM, we don't need real time target and tracking for it work( can be jammed, satellite can be destroyed), neither we will need to invest billions of dollars to biuld a guidance chain to guide the missile, neither extra money to make that guidance chain redundance.
Just need to know the position of the target, once the data is fed into lrashm, then it doesn't need any other data, will use it's Inertial navigation to reach the general location in few minutes( in few minutes a ship can only travel few kilometers, so relativelys small variation) and will then activate it's large aesa seeker.

While df21 being a mrbm with Marv warhead will need to rely on external guidance even then it can be taken down in boost and midcourse( while lrashm will fly at lot lower attitude, just like a scramjet hcm ), and those Marv warheads will not be as accurate as lrashm(has a seeker).

The place where lrashm lags behind df21 and df17 Is range, *BUT* it's range is sufficient for us In Indian ocean region, so not a downside for us.

God I love thae missile.
If were talking "individual" missile then, lrashm will be most hard to intercept anti ship missile in the world, when it enters service.
df 21 forced US carriers to operate more farther away, lrashm will force PLAN to never bring their carrier group in the Indian ocean itself, plus the geography will further help us.
This missile will change the entire power play in Indian ocean.

All right, I'm done with my fanboying.
