Indo US Relations

Brics is dead .
Time shall curb America and destroy it's hubris .
So badly that, no one will even recognise their sorry lot .

There has some talk about how Trump will use tariffs as means to get some deal with India.
my question is, why shouldn't he? He is US president after all and he should do what's best for US. Conversely, Modi will do whats best for India.
The deal will cater to both sides.

The larger point is, with Trump, for most part you see what you get. There won't be any backroom shenanigans from him.
With Democrats, you get nothing you see. They will shove a knife in our hole with a smile on their face. They have done so repeatedly in last 4 years. FFS, they were even paying off pakis in Manhattan millions to house illegal immigrants and then threw Yunis on our testicles.

With Trump, you will hardly see that kind of underhanded shit. He will be in your face telling you what he will do.

Now, coming to how it will impact India, on economic front, we will have to buy lot of things to assuage tha orange man. There will be no getting around it. It can be military or tariffs, we have to choose our poison. On other hand, our internal security will be a lot better. Trump has said a lot of things that as Indians are a million times more important than few billions of dollars of revenue hit, be it on Pak, Bangladesh or wider narrative.

If you think presidents rule in Manipur is just a coincidence, I got some land for you on moon to buy cheap.
With Democrats in power, Manipur was an issue we could not deal with freely. Seems like no more and president's rule as soon as Trump returns signals the intent.

If it's a framework that can bypass Congress, and/or make the procurement process more reliable & less prone to whims of the ruling party; maybe then it will work. If not, it's just one more diplomatic excersize.
Let's see what the outcomes are, historically India has been a tough negotiator; so not likely to get shortchanged easily
Indian negotiating behaviour is world famous 😁

headley is too white for extradition and probable CIA asset.
He's not white , he's half Paxtani & he's not going to extradited . Besides , I'd be very surprised if Pannu is extradited though I expect he'd zip up on his daily / weekly / monthly video messages.

Honestly better than having tariffs put on us, cause that would anyways led to slow defence spending, bcoz of slow economy

Do you see this gormint allocating money for big time phoren gear procurements (not talking about incremental/piecemeal orders)? Does the MoDwallahs even have the fiscal space to afford that? Because we have not seen big ticket phoren maal procurements in recent years (barring that aero engine thingy)? MoD budgets are barely increasing.

MoD didn't utilised the full budget from last fin year, not amount of money will fix the broken procurement system. Field artillery realisation plan is a classic example of it.

I see a lot of 20 somethings & a few 30 somethings suffer from shigra pathan , the 2 strokes & I've cum , wham bam , that's it Ma'am kinds , forgetting the man occupying the PMs chair is not just a baniya but a Modh Baniya.

What's that popular phrase in Gujarati about Modh Baniyas ? @johny_baba

I read news that claimed that the remaining budget was spent in the final months by procuring indigenous gears on a war footing. Some articles predict something similar this year too. Will have to look it up.

How then did news about returning the monies back to CFI come through then ? I distinctly recall a couple of years ago , in 2022 , if I'm not mistaken , the MoD was frantically signing agreements & issuing orders right till the eve of 1st April.

This was the year MoD issued the order for the HTT -40 which is the reason I was surprised to see news of funds not being utilised & statements released to the effect that it won't be so doing the rounds in the immediate aftermath of the budget when there's clearly 2 months to go for the FY to end.

I was specifically talking about FY 2023-24 when the gormint wanted the MoDwallahs to spend a bulk of their budget procuring domestic systems. The MoDwallahs as usual continued with their messed up procurement policies and had to make amends by placing orders left right and centre in the final months just like you implied.

:bplease: so called priest king and modh baniya?!
perhaps you're mixing so called father of the nation's caste with so called priest king's here...

he's clearly a ghanchi or teli by caste, basically a V4, and since OBC list is a state-thing, his caste got into OBC list here during reign of former CM Chimanbhai Patel who also hailed from Janata Dal, the predecessor of current day BJP here, so that's there too

modh prefix means from Modhera, means a northern gujju or by a large extension, a southie rajasthani
