I think Israel miscalculated. If you compare this to the India-Pakistan conflict—where India bombed 11 airbases, 5 military installations, and even targeted nuclear sites inside Pakistan without facing any damage at all—Israel’s situation stands in contrast. In this case, Israel has suffered visible damage. It seems Israel underestimated Iran’s offensive capabilities, assuming they were weaker than Pakistan’s, and overestimated its own military strength, believing it to be greater than India’s. But that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Israel may have inflicted greater damage on Iran, but no one expected Israel to suffer this level of damage in return.

Not really .Israel has been taking absolute minimal damage upto now. But Iranian attacks seems to be improving a little bit.
As of the situation till date,the Iranians have failed to inflict any substantial damage to the warfighting capabilities of the IDF.

Note- No air to air weapons, only guided bombs and those are probably ECM pods on the edge of the wing. Israelis are wholly unconcerned about facing air threats. The kind of stuff that happens when you have no air force worth a damn.

Also, the refuellers must be flying so close to the Iraqi border, it's not even funny. F16 without any external fuel tanks has a range of approximately 700 kilometres (probably lesser with those giant JDAMs). It's a pretty pathetic showing not just by Iran but the entire Middle East.

Correct — there should always be a neutral analysis after any war, whether it’s an India-Pakistan conflict, an Israel-Iran war, or any other. Objective assessments help us learn lessons and improve for the future.

The mask has come out in OP Sindoor ! There was never synergy in US - India relation. Under grab of mouth appeasing , US was under cutting India. To some extent it was expecting India to not buy Russia oil which we failed them. After Galwan , they expected us to take on China , we did not toe , so we are not useful for them and now almost out of their so called camp. The current Trump regime is helping us by distancing their (US) allies EU little bit and it has helped to create doubt that they need to think world with out US help for them.
