Talked to a guy, he said its more or less confirmed that all 73 mk1a will have Israeli avionics
Keeping apart the sabotage angle, point is right now all organizations are helpless
Bcoz HAL has to place orders today only then they could get avionics in time and deliver the aircrafts
If they wait for DRDO avionics to certify, the order will be delayed due to which after 40th aircraft we will face same issue as today which is due to engines

No pressure tactics from DRDO MoD or even PMO can help saving indigenous avionics
Only hope is for 97 mk1a which will definitely have DRDO avionics

Due to lack of communication and last moment attitude of all the organisations has led to such situation
Can't wait for DRDO avionics . Jet quantities are at critical levels now and keeping the Tejas production line running continuously should be the most inportant thing .

What has to be done will be done but the larger problem is lack of communication
Every project will get hurt due to it
Add involvement of both civilian and military babus
They create an entire new set of mess
Reason is everyone is high on ego and look onto each other with complex
That happens in RnD centres across India be it public or private
I experienced it personally through my work as intern atleast have seen such things in private companies
No need to speak about babus
For starter we need officials from PMO to sit and solve the issues
But they dont seem to be interested
God knows what modi is up to
In the field of defence he hasn't done anything significant wrt procurement project development funding and high technical stuffs

What ever u r seeing in case of AMCA is noting but a shit show by MoD and DRDO
U will see them again failing to meet their objectives and wasting funds

If MoD babus were passionate they would have personally intervened to provide FTB to DRDO for testing and would have fast tracked indigenous EW suite by now. There is very little communication between IAF, DRDO and HAL. MoD should be the channel for mutual communication but they themselves are doing their own shitshow.

Well Uttam and EW suites aren't dead though. We still have to upgrade Tejas Mk1. Those will go into that.
 
All the problems come bite in ass due to lack of a Central Armaments Management Agency, Japan has ATLA, Korea has DAPA, French have DGA, China has SASTIND and India has a CIRCUS SHOW. MoD Politicians point to MoD Bureaucrats, Bureaucrats point to Generals, Generals point to HAL, HAL points to CEMILAC, CEMILAC points to DRDO, DRDO points to ADA, ADA points to Bureaucrats, truly a CLOWNSHOW.

We need to have a autonomous agency under PMO call it Armaments Management Agency AMA which takes in PSQR from Armed Forces who submit it once and call it a day with no modifications. AMA gets entire CAPEX on Day-1 not the mujra Researchers or MoD has to do before Ministry of Finance everytime.

AMA will manage end to end from PSQR refinements to R&D to Manufacturing to Maintenance to Testing. Ofcourse it "manages" with the help of 3rd party companies rather than doing itself- aka the Techno-Managerial Job just like how the Japanese ATLA does it.

For Indian companies to suceed and establish themselves we need to end this farce called Global Competition. How exactly are we gonna build a MIC by pitting a barely 5-year old company or a piece-meal orders laden company to Western companies which built legacy? Its game rigged from start. We need to seperate R&D from Production. No more clever word-salad RFPs- they must fund R&D of product realization. No more RFPs for some X-Band Radar but RFPs for R&D of such Radar and that too quotes only. Some babu doesn't get to decide how much a Jet-Engine development costs rather accept the quotes and select the least expensive.

Katter of fact is most of the organization doesn't know the status and problems regarding a platform
That's why we here different timelines

If HAL has sensed a problem they keep it to themselves and try to solve on their own and dont communicate until shit has hit the fan
Similarly for DRDO or MoD or any production organization
These things amplify into larger problem
Many people dont know how many parts of AMCA has been made and how many sub-systems have been delivered since 2022
But here we are stating 2029 as roll out bcoz works were done haphazardly and recently they found issue with CDR and found issue finalising it

No one in this world can kill us except ourselves and we deliberately do it making things easier for our enemies
 
I think delivery rate for platforms is what matters more for IAF right now. If the follow on MK1A orders have Uttam and Indian EW, then this is not a show stopper.

PAF will have around 200 JF17 by 2030, so I am pretty sure there will be follow on orders for MK1A to make up IAF numbers.
we even if we go with indian ew and uttam radar, it wont come before 2030 due to burger engines, it is completely stupid to give delivery timeline issues with indian subsytems, even if they get israeli subsytems, engines will not allow it to be delivered

Let's see what happens. GE is currently delivering engines though. So if they keep their promise and deliver 2 engines every month. Then we will have all first batch of Mk1A by 2029.

I have very little trust in burgerica. But i don't see GE delaying engine delivery further because their supply chain issue has been fixed. I could very well be wrong. But I hope to be right.
