On Navi Mumbai side, Manda Mhatre, arch enemy of whichever Naik clan politician ruled there, has defeated him
The *Naik in question had joined NCP-Sharad or rather NCP-Tootari

Once again this Naik REJINED over Manda Mhatre finally getting ticket
The chronology is this Mhatre joined BJP to get away from her arch enemy
Her arch enemy eventually followed her into BJP also.

I still wish Kharghar was under Navi Mumbai, under some indeterminate year of David Fernandes' Devendra Chad-navis CM tenure we were gifted to the Panvel constituency and municipality.

Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur from MH
Hyderabad from Telangana
Banglore from KT
Noida for UP
Gurgaon for Haryana
Kolkota for WB.

This happens all around the world.
States or Nations build few cities which can be center of commerce and generate trade and wealth for them.
