& if BJP says it will act on Rohingya/Bangladeshi infiltrators only if it is voted to power... this defeat should tell them of the demographic shift... which may not allow them to win even next time.

That's one way of looking at it. Another way of looking at is Maharashtra is the richest state in the Indian Union. No state comes close. Winning MH was a way of lubricating their base. Remember when BJP first came on the scene in 1996 in national elections, Congress still held big states. Despite setbacks in national elections 2 states Maharashtra and United Andhra Pradesh gave them enough monies to lubricate their election machinery to come back to power in 2004.

All that we heard about former home minister in MVA government demanding 100 crore extortion is not fantasy. It is real. Congress right now needs money. Jharkhand is not going to cut it. Karnataka and Telangana is giving them some breather but barely since they have to spend it all on freebies they have promised.

This is unnecessarily glass half-empty, there's no way anyone if given a choice before the day began would have chosen to win Jharkhand over Maharashtra. Not even your 'Breaking India' forces.
