I had a debate with a person named Jyoti Punwani on the facts of the Sri Krishna Commission report. The person was making an outright false claim that the report stated that Hindus started the riots in Bombay in 1992. But the report actually says the opposite. After I quoted from the report, she ran away from the debate.
Jyoti P is not some random person. She is one of the key activists wrt the Bombay riots masquerading as journo who actively contributed to building the fake narrative of Muslims being innocent victims of the riots. They could do this then because it was almost impossible for an average person to access the report. So if she claimed that the report said X, everyone just had to trust her. But their job of gaslighting has become way tougher now that anyone can download and read the report for themselves.
