Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

The officer cadre receives decent training
Almost 99.9% of the times modernization is linked to just Gucci gears but what about the warfighting doctrine! Like earlier it was INSAS now it's 716i...good.
But do we really know whether we're 2000s NATO or 1980s Soviet Union or 1960s British in terms of tactics and planning?

This thing often gets unnoticed.

exactly this setup is super trollable (even though it would be cheap) dont know why they dont make a dedicated mortar turret scalable for 120 mm mortar as well
I am wondering if those shockers really work…

I sometimes feel the young officers makes fun of Generals by displaying this stupid tech and the Gen approves it and even posts it on X

Young officers then lol and drink Rum in their rooms.

Pheeeling proud Indian Armyyyyyyy jang k maidann mee….

Honestly it's not completely bad idea given a requirement for shoot and scoot abilities.

If you see an FPV drone in the vicinity, have a rifle man equipped with an EW jammer or anti drone gun, close the hatch and drive the truck away, all within 2-3 mins.

its not a bad idea its just implemented incorrectly the use of 3mortars can be replaced with bigger single mortar
when 1 mortar is fired it can alter other's accuracy

hardly anything has changed
Nothing will change. This is a mindset issue

Officers are nepo babies, enlisted just want a govt job

Officers are more interested in bleeding the taxpayer dry with all the benefits the job accrues and their army brat kids flock abroad

The Indian military may actually be the greatest force for peace in the region, their ineptitude is so great the politicians will never want to use them hence always conceding to the enemy, contorting in every which way to avoid conflict and hiding every failure

And while top officers are filling out visa applications for their brats and job adverts for foreign OEMs the low IQ junior ranks are coming up with this sh!t:

Let's be fair ....90% of this forum pooh poohs agniveers.
Agniveers as human capital may be a joke mostly
Because the Indian military’s training infrastructure is nonexistent and backwards (hence it’s mostly a on the job approach)

But the idea itself is the only way CAPEX can ever be boosted otherwise these big brains will continue to spend 90% of their budget purely on salaries and pensions in perpetuity

What was the last large CAPEX deal the IA made that anyone can remember? A few 100 million deal per year is all they really do

Every time Indian Army innovates i get scared of how badly will we be trolled.
Put low IQ, senior officer indifference and no budgets together and what are you going to get but a farce

A humiliating defeat which cannot be hidden by media (unlike 2019 & 2020 standoffs) is needed... it should come in a few years.
Nope, pacifism isn’t a mental defect but a necessity for Indian leadership. They’ll do anything up to ceding territory to avoid an overt military defeat
