Modernisation of Indian Army Infantry

91st Amphibious Brigade, India's 'Marines'

In Tamil we have a saying

"Koncho kude maanon maryadai illaya?"

I will pose this question to our generals regarding our infantry. Tamil bros can translate for those who want to know.

I will translate the text.

Meanwhile the restored WW2 era picture of our Army looks good. Need to see these kind of restored pictures.

Here's the original, whoever restored it, did a really great job
Methinks AI was involved in the restoration

We need to have a Pradhan Mantri Equipment only for Photo Ops Yojana.

Already exists.

The Yojana then is not equally distributed since I still see WW2 jawans with sterling machine guns on IA official social media.

If you can't/don't want to equip all the boys with the basics, atleast do it for photo ops ffs.
Bat-munching wumaos post these pics everywhere on the internet and goo-ras laugh at us.

Also are there more pictures of this "Garwhal Rifles exercise with Japanese" event?

The yojna right now only cover "foreign exercises" and even those are not 100% covered.

SSB ko reform karna, bureaucracy hataana toh door ki baat. One doesn't require rural-grunts to be engineers to benefit from standardised uniforms, plate carriers, helmets, basic-optics, guns etc.

Matlab ek unit mein, operation ke waqt toh thoda standardisation hona chahiye?

But apparently uniformity comes at the cost of comfort & customisation concerns and it also takes away from our readiness??? - @37:00.
1-2 hours to get ready? Really?:cautious:

Vivek Krishnan of SSS Defence more or less spelled it out.
  • IA's lack of evolutionary thinking - Buying off the shelf rather than collaboratively developing weapon systems with the industry over a period of time.
  • Unrealistic expectations and demanding parts from all over the place.
  • IA's fallacy of decoupling economy and military-industry from their strategic thinking; they want ready-made stuff.
  • IA kinda-arbitrarily removed SSS Defence's M72 CQB from their CQB competition

And I know, some of these defence content creators lurk.
This is a democracy, so, bhai sahab critique toh rukega nahin.
That "izzat se na khelo, leave it to the experts" appeal-to-authority, boomer logic is hurting us - so expect to get checked.

Also, waah bhai waah, ab toh log "nationalist-antinational" ban gaye, aisan oxymoron nahi dekhban ba. Thoda pushback mila toh strawman shuru.
