Good performance by SU30 doesn't guarantee SU57 being the same way.![]()
Russia Unveils First AI-Powered Sukhoi Su-57M Fighter Jet. Here's How India Benefits - News18
The Indian Air Force (IAF), which operates over 270 Su-30MKI aircraft - the backbone of its combat fleet - has maintained strong defence ties with Russia since the 1990s.www.news18.com
Observing how excellently Su-30MKI performed during full spectrum of air combat. We should immediately buy 5-6 squadrons of upgraded SU-57.
This should be immediate and government to government, and please don't allow these lethargic good for nothing babus who will take another 20 years just to show Russians how indispensable the babus are and by then we might have entered the era of 7th generation aircrafts.
A fun little case study would be IS2 and IS3 tanks.
IS2 was designed in a hurry in late WW2 and put on the frontlines. It outdid itself in the war. When the war was over, they decided to design IS3 in peacetime.
This is when the USSR economy is stabilizing and they don't have Nazi Germany breathing down their neck so obviously, the newer one will be better right?
Wrong.
Thing would have so many issues, it was almost immediately retired.
Until Russia itself adopts a sizeable number of SU57, we shouldn't be their beta testers.
Test your SU57s, show the world how reliable and capable they are, adopt them yourself then Indian baniya comes in rubbing his hands.
Till then, no.
Reason why India has bought so many planes from Russia also has the reasoning of a strong logistical support for it. Russia has some thousands MiGs? Surely, they have a surplus of spare parts to... Well... Spare.
This doesn't apply for SU57s yet.
