I could be wrong but I doubt that India hit any American assets in Pakistan during India's military strikes on Pakistan. The displeasure of the US is multifold:

a. India hit Pakistanese nuclear facilities. Keep in mind Pakistan's nuclear weapons are USA's favorite scarecrows against India.

b. India successfully tested Chinese electronic war fighting capabilities and cornered Pakistan decisively.

Operation Sindhoor completely upset the apple cart.

It's all speculation as no one will come out and confirm if we did hit anything.

Yes. Several top scientists are leaving US to return to Europe and other origin countries due to arbitrary visa denials, eliminating research budget, firing staff directing these programs and so on. American R&D is in an absolute mess with failing supply chains due to tariff wars. Build proper urban areas with world class infrastructure and bring global scientists to come live and work there. India’s scientific output will grow several fold. Be like Israel. Get aggressive on technology R&D.

I don't think the Indian establishment ever thinks of such things.

1.Whatever be the circumstances, desi systems proved its reliance, so indigenisation is much important.
2.India must develop a jet engine for any cost so that desi jets may be produced, procured and induced.
3.Role of Artillery is no less important. Missiles can be traced, tracked and taken down but not a shell by howitzer.
4.AD systems have shown their efficiency and so done by the leadership.
5.Electronic warfare must be on utmost priority.
6.Though the part of briefing and anti propaganda machinery failed which should be taken care of.
7.There is no problem in stating what we lost and what we gained, on the other hand it increases credibility only.

They lack the basic intelligence to realise that they need to pay good salary to hire good people.That will never happen for psu's as salary is capped ( stupid decisions ) and will never change.

The private players atm are very small and lack any real manufacturing or r&d capacity especially in aircraft manufacturing ,engine related r&d etc.

Maybe we have made some good progress nearing integration in radars ( uttam ) .

We need special programs with no salary cap and good research facilities to attract the best.I am not saying psu don't have good people but what drive can u expect from an employee in that environment ?

Until an unless we completely overhaul our R&D, trials & procurement setup we will remain dependent on imports.

Lol People are crying over emergency purchases (~5 billions $) that was already known to all nd was inevitable after operation sindoor.

Peeps are almost forgetting that most of these EP (emergency purchases) will go to domestic pvt nd DPSUs cos (screwdrivergiri ofcourse for some capabilities).

Oki let's break it down to what are we actually buying in EP for 40000 crore (4.8 billion dollars) that is meant for all three armed forces (where army will get 9000 crores nd rest will go to IAF nd Navy).

We are buying long range loitering munitions (adani made Harop, Newspace sheshnaag?), kamikaze drones (various domestic options exist), anti done systems (various domestic exist), artillery shells (adani, aweil etc.), cruise missiles nd ALBMs.. now this will be meant specially for IAF.. as per several news reports IAF will certainly buy more rampage (direct import as no domestic options exist yet), Ice breaker CM (BDL has LM contract for it), Air lora (maybe? BEL has signed MOU with IAI to manufacture it domestically), Crystal Maze 2 (BEL has LM contact for it).

Now these are the only known weapons nd systems which are currently known there will be many more deals nd weapon purchases to augment the current capabilities in the wake of contingencies as operation sindoor is still in a pause.

Now coming to peeps getting emotional over imports in EP needs to realise that we are still not "YET" fully indipendent when it comes to low cost nd affordable cruise missiles nd ALBMs.. that's the reason we are seeing DPSUs gaints like BEL nd BDL who are literally signing license manufacturing contract for every possibly available low cost CM nd ALBM that isreal has eg. Air lora, Crystal maze 2, Ice breaker CM.

DRDO chief had claimed few year back that india will independent in missile technology by year 2024 but still we are not yet import free even in missile tech nd lack isreal level capabilities in terms of Low cost ALBMs nd CM. Currently all our domestic ALBMs variants like Rudram 2, 3, 4 are still in development stage (not even user trials hv yet begun) nd it will take atleast 3-4 years till the time it enters services in sufficient nos.

Also we currently lack any domestic alternative for SCALP missiles (Cats hunter is still in R&D phase) nd low cost 5th gen ICE BREAKER missiles which according to some sources cost even below 1 million dollars per unit nd one can can comprehend the importance of low cost ice breaker like CM where even General Atomics is producing it's own variant with name of Bullseye with Rafael advanced defense systems.

So coming to the moot point.. we are still 3-4 years away till our own desi ALBMs variants like Rudram 2, 3 nd 4 nd low cost alternative of SCALP nd ice breaker is available for us to induct in good nos. Till that time direct import or licence manufacturing (screwdrivergiri) is crucial for capability building also there is a pressing need for DRDO to pull up it's socks nd expedite the development cycle of it's various missiles nd deliver it to armed forces as quickly as possible.

I was thinking about the Engines the moment I read that post. Even Thailand rejected Chinese Engines citing poor performance and reliability.

I don't know what role India played in all of this but Western countries have a arms embargo ever since Tiananmen square incident. Now if India chooses German subs for it's Project 75 it will effectively block German Engines forever to Pakistan.

I concur with you on J35. I am sick and fed up of people here writing umpteen times about impulsive purchase of F-35 and Su-57 as if they are going to arrive tomorrow without strings attached. We should first think about a counter which is within our reach that is through air defense systems.

Infact they couldn't get those fast enough. With the current sad state of affairs in the paf, those J-31/J-35s are going to be a liability. With their tiny budget, they would have to bench 80% of their fighter assets to operate 30-40 of these jets and pay for the operating cost. Not a bad idea in hindsight since all of their old F-16s, Mirages and block 1-2 JF-17s are flying junk to begin with. But they lose multi-spectrum capability and even strike missions and CAP sorties get way more expensive needlessly. Since the effectiveness of the paki air defense network largely exists in mass hallucination, most of these new birds will be taken out on the ground. Aside from taking a few sneaky potshots from R-MAX, these jets won't change ground realities in their favor. They get a boost in BVRAAM slugfest for now, but there are other ways to intercept fighters.

On a footnote, since the J-20 wasn't enough to expedite the AMCA's development, this paki begging spree should help.​

PL-15 having 400km is the biggest chooran Chinese have sold to their people. If you launch that missile at 50,000 feet altitude and if it travels in a straight line like a dummy then maybe it's range would be around 400km. But is that a realistic scenario? Won't the target manoeuvre making series of turns and gaining and losing altitude? Will it's range remains the same if it is launched at 10,000 feet altitude? Moreover none of the fighter aircrafts have the radar range of 400km to guide the missile until it's terminal stage. This means they will have to rely on AWACS to guide the missile. But this also brings AWACS within the striking range of target aircraft if it is carrying long range A2A missile or from the ground air defense systems.

(The original Hangor was made when Pakistan was undivided so having a Bengali name makes some sense. That vessel sunk some Indian naval vessel iirc. So you know, Pakis are trying to steal that name for glory)
