I don't think Pakistan will allow US assets to be based in their territory for a strike on Iran. Because they can't keep this under wrap and then things will start imploding for Munir, after the budget there is a lot of anger in Punjab & Sindh under the surface.

I think lot of testing/validation work (using software) is done by private defense firms, they present the work done by them as highlights in public.

I believe it is not anything sensitive, it has been out there for more than 6-7 years.

Pretty much exactly what I was suggesting/ expecting from GoI. There's still concern about what the next three weeks will look like in terms of Russia vs. NATO. That can have impacts on the defence deal timelines, but then again, the deals have just been signed. Hopefully, the remaining S400s from the previous order will be received by next year, and then the following deals won't materialize into assets on the ground for at least five years.
What I'm more excited about is the engine tech ToT and manufacturing in India, along with the apparent fast-tracking of AMCA. I hope the private players and HAL can keep up. There is credible proof now that the private defence sector in India is performing really well. I just hope some people in the MoD and HAL, and other such organizations get a few slaps from Modiji and company.
This looks like a great start tbh. Exciting times ahead! If people can be kept accountable and timelines can be enforced, AMCA and full indigenous engine design and manufacturing will be a reality in a decade's time. HAL is supposed to hand over the first Tejas Mk1A soon, but the US might create problems with providing engines on time. Hopefully, GoI figures something out with GE.
The 26 Rafale M's will also be a great boost to the IN carrier groups' deep precision strike and air dominance capabilities. Hopefully, there is some action on the INS Vishal 65000-ton aircraft carrier project, too.

In other news, China looks like they've seriously lost the plot. CeeCeePee has never been this white-washed and this red-faced at the same time. Hopefully, India manages to negotiate our trade deal better. I'm optimistic.

Su57 with AL 51 engine is nt at all a bad deal . Since we are supposed to make it here like su30 , we should consider plus minus of su57's original avionics vs whatever we have developed for AMCA and su30 upgrades . If astra mk2 astra mk3 can go in to inner pylon it can definitely do something far away before being detected . My only question is why they did nt go for it earlier if they are interested now .. our acquisition policy is shit .. Little of that ..little of this .. no long term goal..

Yes seems like it.

A lot of institutions, research/testing facilities, skilled personnel and private players were non-existent until the advent of Tejas and it's deliveries leading upto 2017-18. The expertise in aerospace industry (or any other industry for that matter) is like an S-shaped curve where there are entire decades spent on institution building and very little progress in terms of research and production output. Then there are years where a couple of different aircrafts can be designed, developed and produced within years. It will absolutely not take India as long to roll out Tejas Mk2, AMCA and TEDBF as it did for Tejas Mk1. Don't cite the delays in Mk1A because the GE 404 facility had been shutdown and had to be restarted. HAL has a couple of airframes already ready to be fit with engines.

And as for the opposition government thing... By that logic, we shouldn't invest in anything at all and might as well scrap the project. What kind of a retarded argument is that? Do you think things will remain the same now as it is in 2025? Industrialism will be much more powerful then than it will be now. Fucking up with that will mean ruining the lives of hundreds of families and since opposition is socialist, that would create a major schism with worker and trade unions. If there are deals already in place for manufacturing come 2028, no government would dare to fuck with it.

The Su-57 is a shitty jet that the Russians themselves have shown little confidence in and have little ability to manufacture in appreciable quantities. It won't be a stop gap but a peer aircraft of AMCA by the time it is fully inducted, if at all it will be ordered. This sounds like the Mig-23/Mirage 2000 fiasco all over again with you dhoti shivering Su-57 dalals.

We still don't have the material science behind stealth. That along with engine is the biggest issue. Relying on the US for GE 414 was idiotic, it will never be delivered.

No one said to not invest in AmCA, only not to put all our eggs in that basket of which we have no certainty of either delivery or timeline.

Su57 is better than whatever Chini can throw at us or via Porkies, that's what we need till AMCA comes.
